Man that's a shame.... I hope the truck driver gets what he deserves too...

Anton - I have one A4 light (think it's the same that's used above) in bits if you want it for parts - £25

Yeah, Pistonheads seems the place for something a bit special like this! My Boss sold basically the same car Phil, 2 weeks ago again via PH in no time - 55 Plate BAM engine, Mint red paint and recent DS2500's... He was the 4th owner but it only had done 30k miles and sold for just over £9k so I think yours was bang on and certainly priced to sell... Excellent cars - probably the nearest thing to a MK2 GTI you can buy these days. 8) He also sold it to get a Scirocco TDI on lease but VW are messing him around with the build date so also looking at the S line TT

Dave - there is a vibration damper which is a very tight fit against that pulley and may not be seated correctly or maybe even the wrong way round!?! Check the big crank bolt is not coming loose too
-
^ Are you sure that's right Yan? I thought there was a TSB about this (on the G60 anyway) and they increased the figure, hence why the Bentley is wrong I think.

Welcome to the forum! It sounds like the boot is out of sync with the alarm - maybe try opening it manually along with the doors and resetting the alarm again.
-
Fuel tanks and body different beween early and late models... early cars have bigger boots.
-
This is where you find your whole engine is out of some old Audi :D
-
Hmmm - so does the new one work?
-
Interesting point about the braking Rob as i'd not thought about that... thinking about it mine are pretty darm sharp and brakes very well from high speeds!
-
Straight swap but you will also need the cowling to match the larger hazzard light.
-
Yeah, the 8NO bushes just fit as a direct replacement... I can't see any drawbacks to be honest, they seem to tighten the whole front end up nicely - maybe a good upgrade for lower cars as the bushes distort less under hard cornering.
-
LOL @ Boost Monkey! - when Roddy was a mod you'd get banned for that! Can't believe he does it on the 911 forums too though
-
Be very careful with tape etc - if it gets sucked in it will be new charger time! I'd just order a new hose from VW, you might find there is also an O ring seal like on the boost return side - another part worth changing to keep the system air tight!

Fantastic car and in a day when good 996's and 997's are cheaper than new boxters, I'd still have the 993... IMO it's the last of the classic 911's being aircooled etc and probably the only car i'd replace the Corrado with. Roddy was kind enough to let me have a quick drive of this when I was up in Scotland, supperb bit of kit. The problem is when you drive one you have to have one!
-
Never seen any six sided to be honest... I think he will be suprised at how well the Halfords ones grip, almost as good as the flank drive that Snap-On do!
-
MK4 calipers are certainly a proven upgrade but you might find new handbrake cables sort your issue out, cheap from VW too!

H&R springs but which top mounts will i need?
Supercharged replied to ANDREW 30's topic in Drivetrain
Not really mate - just ring Koni and get some sent. -
Yes, you also need the plastic surround though which are now around £20 (used to be £6!!) so maybe better to just buy a whole light unit and sell the old ones on.
-
Yep, new ones just slide over (you squeeze it slightly) and then clip into the Handle, the Handle trim has a clips at the bottom to release it. Note - the new one for £3 is plastic, most cars got a leather one which was about £13 last time I got one.
-
As above - it's also in the Instruction manual!
-
Bypass it with a U bend or 2 MK1 water pipes - see if it makes a difference

If you're buying springs and shocks I would be tempted to buy everthing on the diagrams and then just swap the bits over as units... This all adds up but will be cost effective in terms of the time you are paying for someone else to break the old units down - maybe 1 hour to fit all four (in an equipped garage) as opposed to 3 hours (plus alignment) The key parts are - Front top mounts + bearings Rear Bump stops (cut these down by 30mm for the drop) Rear upper spring platforms (these need drilling out 1mm for the Koni rears) New lower nuts and bolts for all 4 corners. -
Yep, buy genuine discs as they have the anti rust coating... last longer than anythig else on the market!
