The crossmember bushes don't really wear mate... you sure the shocks are ok?

To anyone wanting the above I'd advice them to ring Ipswich Audi and ask for Pat McCrotch

Jim's Corrado - ciao to the Fiat! Hello to.. (P64)

Take it back to the other place mate - it was only a year ago wasn't it! They probably used a pattern part which split or didn't use the proper clips and it twisted - make sure you get genuine bits this time as there is a huge difference in quality! -
He's Parts Manager at an Audi dealer

AVS sell some decent stuff but as always there is some rubbish too... Sasme goes for pattern waterpumps, my mate bought one against my advice and saved about a quid, took ages to fit as the pattern casting didn't fit the engine properly and we had to bend the metal cambelt cover to make it fit... It leaked and 2 weeks later he did the job again with a genuine part.

Supercharged replied to jimmyvwjunkie's topic in Engine Bay
13mm - you can make a tool from an M8 Bolt and 2 nuts lockked together. -
2 piece? Do you mean the rear window seal? if so it's about £30 from VW

Hmmm.... all the ones I've tested are usually 127-135 PSI, I think my Golf GTI engine used to give figures of around 150... Atmosphere = 14.7 psi C.R. of 8.0:1 Therefore Expected pressure = 14.7 x 8.0 = 118 psi (+ 14.7 = 132 PSI absolute) ^ Not sure if my gauge actually measures absolute or relative pressure so that may account for the readings.... also the fact that the air is compressed by the charger also changes the figures...

Is it possible to buy new caliper pistons anywhere?
Supercharged replied to Mawrick's topic in Suppliers Forum
Big Red might do them but new calipers are very cheap from VW on exchange -
150 is a bit high - should be more like 130PSI but they are the same across the board so probably jut the (in)accuracy of the gauge... did you have the throttle open and engine up to temp? I love the way VW's are so consistent... the say a difference 3 bar (nearly 45PSI!!!) is permissible but if I saw 20PSI I'd start thinking about a rebiuld! I wouldn't worry about the engine itself but it's running rich - I'd clean those plugs too!

Nice one, always good to know what fixes these issues... The ABS system can be quite fussy with the age and makes of the front sensors and they sometimes need to be matched to work properly.
-
Dealers don't have the kit any more - was usful when they did though as they used to do it for free! Just go to Morrisons etc and get it done, they never ask for proof. I would retumble the handle yes but it's easier to just swap the lock over from the original handle if you have it? If not then you need to work out what levers you need so I'd remove the pass door handle to do this ideally give the key code to the VW dealer - this is on a cable tie on the spare key if you have it.

Hi Wormy, not sure i'm afraid mate... maybe worth calling Bosch up, the tech guys in the autoparts dept are usually pretty good. The VDO one is wider than the original where it slots in I think...

What year is it? if it's late it could be an imobiliser // reader coil issue Is the fuel pump after run working?
-
Errr yep,if your water is getting to 110 before the fans come on them it's likely your thermoswitch is knackered.
-
Cables stretch mate... think bikes / guitars etc... They could be the original ones too - new ones are £8 a side from VW.
