  1. The rear seat looks way too big... ...I'll get my coat
  2. Yeah, they shouldn't have touched the crank pulley bolt to do a belt change, people do this becuase the other pulley and vibration damper get seized together and they think they are one. muppets!
  3. Yep, the only difference is the glass lense and the plastic trim surround.
  4. Arsebiscuits... Yeah just ha a look at my spare bearing carriers and they are tapered, the TRE is not tho but I guess the taper just allows the ball joint to move with the hub at the right angle... either way it must be needed. Still maybe worth investigating but not as easy as I first thought...
  5. Hmmm, no not really, there was a kit for the MK3 to do this but never one for the Corrado... Best bet is to get an alarm fitted, most insurers want Cat 1 certified now anyways...
  6. It's a case of how far do you go... you've gone from headgasket, skiped past the head rebuild stage and stepped into full engine stripdown... I'd just buy a headset for now and fit what you can out of that, VW 4 pots are fairly reliable bottom end wise...
  7. I'm still getting fairly bad bump steer on my TDI, other than this I am very happy with the setup / handling... it's just poor roads really that throw it... On the R32 / LCR and other newer VAG cars with sports suspension the track rod ends point up rather than down... this keeps the rods themselves more parallel and (I think) less prone to the effect known as bump-steer Obviously it would throw the tracking out I would think but what do people think about lowered Corrado's running like this - anyone tried it or have a reasons why it wouldn't work??
  8. Haha - yeah I think mine was only 25g, used most of it so chucked the packet... Yeah i'd do the HG, it's piece of mind at the end of the day and you have the skills to do it yourself, timing is easy etc..
  9. Nice work and good pics, i'd consider painting over the bolts with some sort of enamel once it's all torqued up and alligned... Re the springs, yeah the blue H&R's are the only ones I know of that are designed to be used with standard shocks, I used VR gas shocks becuase of the weight of the TDI and it's still slightly too low for my liking and harsh over bumps but then again it's so much better than it was and handles great, better than the New Scirocco round corners! Ideally I reckon I should buy some H&R OE sport springs for a MK3 TDI but I can't be arsed to take it all apart again and then have to have it all alligned etc... I have a new set of PI springs for a VR I might sell but these may be a bit too low for you - you really need something thats 20mm lower than standard, like the difference between a GTI and non GTI Golf - 30mm at most...
  10. It didn't split again, different car... I do need to do the G60 ones tho as I re-used the boot at the time, it was off as I changed the trackrod, both are ok now but look perished / starting to crack, not bad for 16 years old tho! The only reason they split apart from age is monkeys (hehe) not undoing the outer spring clip before adjusting the tracking / or untwisting the boot afterwards, cnuts! Yeah, I got a smaller amount of grease in a packet rather than a tube and yeah looks like regular LM grease - how much do you get in the tube? Hopefully your CV is weeping CV grease not LM (low melting point) grease dude, yeah i have one doing the same rather annoyingly, I think the clip I used is slightly too big as I can turn it, yours will be the same unless the boot is wrong... Is that the coolant flush in the red box? Interested to know what that contains / does! I'd flush everything with a hose first the connect it all back up and use the flush as it advises (hopefully there are instructions) and then drain / refill with G12+ / water...
  11. What sort of budget do you have? I may be able to supply a courgette at a fairly reasonable price...
  12. 'It looks like a penis, just much smaller'
  13. Haha - forgot about that, that car felt dirty for the rest of the trip... thats why Jim kept washing it, lol
  14. No thats just the code for the keys themselves... You should be able to re-tumble the drives lock to match the original key using bits from VW Corrados from 95 had a factory imobiliser using a reader coil and a chipped key but no fob as such.
  15. They go into the accessory feeds at the top of the fusebox - the only place they will fit... One is mains power and one is for illumination (blue/white wire) IIRC If you look at whats there already it should be reasonably clear
  16. All your pipes go to the ABS valve block under the expansion tank - you'll see the 2 feed lines from the res and the 6 smaller ones that go to the calipers
  17. Should be 11mm mate and 14mm to hold the brakeline still... sounds like someone has fooked it in the past!
  18. Just looked at the mount pic on the other page - Jeezus!! (once I stopped laughing at Mic's avatar) Your doing things the best way tho, ie hitting the whole drivetrain at once, you'll be loving the way it drives once it's on the road again, i've done a similar amount of work to mine now and it's superb!
  19. Yeah, it was an arse altho i've done it before on the G60 and on the same side too (drivers side)... Had the clip on first which i'd bent into shape and pinched up slightly, couldn't get the boot on at all but when I took the clip off it went on easily... then fitted the clip round it which was awkward but not too bad. Did you use the VW grease? I did but wasn't sure if the packet was for one side or both? assumed it was one side like the CV kits come with!
  20. Were you using a decent flare nut spanner? (a good toll makes a hell of a difference to weather it will come undone of not!)
  21. Does anyone know what model of Toad this is?? I really need to know how to put it into Valet mode as it's getting quite annoying - keeps going off at shows etc...

    KR Cams

I've got a pair of 9A cams in good condition (as far as I know) if you want them - £20 posted
  23. Looks almost mint! Nice work dude - I swapped a steering rack boot in situ this morning, looks a hell of a lot easier with it like above!
