If it blows instantly then it will be a dead short... The circuit info is in the instruction manual

VW sell yellow repair wires that push into the plug and then you repair further down the loom. New plugs are about £4 from VW

Sandblasting (or what else?) to clean oily bits..?
Supercharged replied to Jim's topic in Suppliers Forum
You can but it doesn't last long, best tip tho is too put bolts in any threaded holes so sand doesn't get in the threads as it's a mare to get out - good way of cleaning up old bolts too as it's often just the head that corrodes... -
Sandblasting (or what else?) to clean oily bits..?
Supercharged replied to Jim's topic in Suppliers Forum
Blasting is fine dude but it's absolutely critical that they don't go on with sand inside so if really oily I would try and degrease first... Tim did his a couple of years ago now and the Fanimold still looks new! -
VR6 rebuild - Downpipe and exhaust tacked up
Supercharged replied to nemesis360's topic in Members Gallery
Looks fab - just a quick one tho, are you sure the Servo etc will fit with the engine in?? -
Yep - just to keep the info on the forum the CE2 fusebox is used on any VW of a similar age... fairly horrid plastic thing but does the job!
-
Yeah, that should be it then - the G60's are the same, like you say it must be the load, length and the route that affect it... VW use Contitech belts for the VR but Gates are also OEM on some cars

Adjusting steering wheel position after tracking
Supercharged replied to boost monkey's topic in Drivetrain
Hmmm.....well....he should centralise the rack before he adjusts the tracking rods. ^Hmmm, thats a good point - didn't think about that... -
Yeah, thats the passat / revised handle - they don't break so I would use the matching lock mech if posible!

Adjusting steering wheel position after tracking
Supercharged replied to boost monkey's topic in Drivetrain
Exactly, and if he believed what he was saying them why didn't he clamp it - makes no sense :cuckoo: Yeah, as above Jon just adjust it yourself, as long as it's tracking straight then it will be fine, there is no self centering on Corrado's, the Toe and castor settings kind of provide this so as long as the trackrods have some adjustability both sides (ie one side doesn't have loads more threads showing to the other side) then it will be fine... It is a git to get it straight tho so i prefer it when they lock the wheel in place really - I suggest you take a 15/16th's or 24mm socket and a ratchet out for a drive! -
Are you using a genuine VW belt?

I hear your having some large brakes for lunch tomorrow?

Try and get one from GSF - they do FAG ones that should be almost OE quality -
Yeah best to buy a few, I bought 5 I think - tip is to use some large pliers as a heatsink while soldering... Motor is 192959101 £55 + vat retail but you should be able to get for £45 ish with discount
-
Nah - the fuse and resister unit is loads on it's own i'm afraid! Fuse itself tho is 57p from Maplins!
