  1. Yep - as per my thread last week. I still bought one regardless of warranty as they are so well made, the fit is never an issue and the steel is proper stainless unlike Milltek, Powerflow etc!
  2. Doing a pad change on a Leon Cupra R soon... There is quite a good guide on the cupra forum but they say to lever the pistons back with a screwdriver? Is there a better method, I have the tool for the lucas / girling calipers but not sure if it will fit the brembo's with the disc in situ etc...
  3. Yeah get a garage to undo using a windy gun if you can... If it's the original 21mm nut then a 14mm spark plug socket will do with a 7mm brake allen key - both available from Halfords... If it's 22mm then lambda probe socket and 6mm brake allen key
  4. Yeah i'd keep an eye on eBay for some brand new injectors mate as yours will be well past there best... My TDI clutch is playing up again so it looks like hire car for us for germany - either a Skoda Superb or Mondeo TDCi me thinks...
  5. Corrado's are what credit cards are for! :D The best honest advice I can give you is to drive it to G-werks as soon as posible and get it checked over (the charger and the whole car that is), worth getting it checked out for peace of mind as I have seen several G60's with fuel leaks and engine mounts about to let go this year! At the end of the day it's a 150mph sports car which is at least 15 years old, it's never going to be cheap to run
  6. Ah - just noticed your pic, don't panic - thats the cam cover gasket thats leaking not the HG Unsurprising if it's original at 100k, cheap and easy to change! 051103483A = £10 from VW
  7. Hi mate, the AAM is the single point injection engine (75BHP) - look at the boot sticker or logbook for the code if you can't see it in the engine bay... I have a feeling this will have a fibre headgasket as they changed to metal in 95 so it might need doing... Other thing to check it the metal breather pipe from the plastic outlet on the block to the rubber cam cover pipe - might be blocked or that rubber Y piece might have collapsed... This pipe is the one coming from the green clip next to the dipstick guide...
  8. 02A911024EX £140+vat retail, £104 +vat TPS I think GSF do a Bosch one tho...
  9. Yeah thats not right at all, that slave cyl is for a much later car... Just get a genuine VAG clutch, better quality and not much more expensive
  10. VWspares.co.uk or any VAG dealer.
  11. Only ABS cars have a nipple on the MC, get an Eezibleed kit - VW don't recommend manual bleeding as you can ruin the MC seals.
  12. Sorry forgot about this... crossmember is powerflex'd so not that and also G'box mount is Turn2 (OE Golf TDI) I'm fairly sure the VT mount needs a new insert tbh but it's not lasted at all!
  13. Nice one - got any pics of the beam? I need to get a spare and do similar...
  14. Switch is part of the handle - £67 new... It's most likely to be the wiring from this corroding inside the door membrane, I would whip the handle off to have a look but be very careful pulling it out as the wires may just fall straight off! Also beware that some drivers door handles have a reverse thread for the screw that holds it on.
  15. Yeah thats the OE heat exchanger, you can't get the gasket separately...

    Help.

Irwins seem to be cheapest from Screwfix and the trade counters will have them in stock... PlusGas can be got from most independant motor factors - it used to be much better than everything else but there are quite a few similar products now, Halfords do a shock-unlock spray and also the 3in1 High performance spray (orange can) The other stuff is Wurth's Sa Besto range but that is equally hard to get hold of...
  17. Confirm what?? Yes hall senders are magnetic and will loose resolution with age...
  18. Mate - I have a new one I can bring to the Northgate meet if you want to borrow it to get copied... I did ask Pirtek about it tho and it would basically cost twice the price as a new one from VW...
  19. Yep - it's all in the instruction manual, located above the main fuse box
  20. Yup, I know which way I'd go if I had a VR at anywhere over 100k miles and it wouldn't involve rebuilding... I've never heard of any problems at all with VEGE or VAG exchange engines which is more than can be said for just about every other engine builder / shop i've heard of...
  21. Yeah thats really good - does it come built with the MK4 tensioners like the VAG unit?
  22. £150!! - they are about half that from VW Did the slave not get changed too? it should have done really as a faulty master would have put more strain on this. If you've been very unlucky you may have bent the clutch fork from driving with a dodgy pedal but I would look at the slave first
  23. Yeah thats an exchange price but the one you get is often brand new or as good as... great price when you consider the price of a rebuild and what doesn't get changed! The 2.8 is nearly a grand cheaper and the other place to consider is VEGE, a mate paid £1400 exchange for a 2.8 VR for his Vento and so quiet it's unbelievable! Also VW have specials from time to time - G60 Block inc pictons, crank and oil pump - £499+vat I'd have a new VW factory exchange engine over most places rebuilds any day!
  24. Built on the MKV platform so really a facelift, all cars will be built in Wolfsburg
