  1. You are using a spanner on the hex on the filter I take it? This is where you need an extra pair of hands really...
  2. Hmm - it really is important that you use the correct stuff in a VR, I know of several engines that have been written off becuase the wrong type of coolant has been used! Do you know what proportion you are running to water??
  3. What coolant mix are you running?? Is the system working as it should - ie water and oil showing temp in around 5-8 mins driving, thermostat opening and allowing water in to the rad and (both) fan(s) cutting in and out to keep the temp at 90c (mid gauge)
  4. "edit..whats the score with taping the wot switch, surley it ignores the o2 with the o2 unplugged anyway?" It uses a fixed value but I think the switch rules out if you have a short in the lambda wiring - engine loom side which is very common on a corrado! I'd check yer earths mate and also don't rule out a dodgy tank of fuel!
  5. Depending on what year car you have the loom connects near to the headlights
  6. If the problem occurs as it warms up, wait until it happens and plug in a cold BTS - if it goes back to normal then the BTS is fine and you know it's a problem with the warm (normal) map where the Lambda sensor and CO pot are most important. Then try unplugging the probe and closing the WOT switch, this tells the ECU to ignore lambda signal
  7. Did you unplug the ecu and disconect the battery when you had the box off? It's could be either a blown injector driver on the ECU board or a bad engine earth causing sensor signals to be out of range...
  8. Looks good - any chance you can put up some rough prices for your work as a guide to our members?
  9. Dave, site is looking great and the club finally has a professional looking web presence for the first time since Guy's site was taken down. I thought, however, it had been agreed tho that there would not be a separate public forum on there apart from a hidden one for committee only use? it just seems completely pointless having a duplicate of information between this site and the CCGB, a banner link between the 2 sites would be a far better solution...
  10. In a Corrado it's 5.5 Ltr and a Passat is 6 - 6.5 ltr depending on A/C or not Use 2.5 Ltrs of G12+ to distilled water for a good mix.
  11. Yep - as above VAG discs last absolutly ages and are properly balanced, well worth the extra couple of quid over the Brembo's etc that GSF sell

    help!!

The setup is the same as a MK2 Golf but the rear shocks are Corrado specific... Good thread title :camp:

Yeah - Should only be a 5-7mm gap with new top mounts... You sure you got the order correct and did everything up to the correct torque?
  14. LOL - have you had a good luck at one - it's a hole drilled and a £2 pusher from maplins bodged in, feels awful! I think one of you lot should phone McLaren and get a price for mirror glass for an F1
  15. Halfords are cheap but for a reason... VW are £25 one side and £35 the other for some reason... Both sides can be had tho for £42 from a TVR dealer
  16. Not as bad but they are too soft, don't bite well and fade easily... I went from Mintex extreme which altho braked well, were very dusty and squeeked to Greenstuff which were awful in comparison in terms of braking - I tried both of these and was still not getting the performance that I used to out of the Pagid FR pads so I then changed the the Ferodo DS2500's and wouldn't use anything else now!
  17. On a G60 standard only... BMC CDA on a VR Replacement panel on the 16V - not K&N tho as the fit is awful!
  18. Welcome to the forum - might be worth editing your thread and putting a description of the problem in the thread title... What oil are you using?
  19. I'd also be thinking about other stuff Jim like a corroded metal pipe causing a partial blockage... my G60 ones weren't too bad at 100k but new ones should still make a difference...
  20. Plus a mobile number as the only contact - dodgy as foook! A whois lookup on the domain doesn't show much either, the registrant has not put his address details up so this means he should not actually be retailing goods - the hosting company may be able to help you find these but not sure how this works with the data protection act...
  21. Yeah still available, none in the country at the moment but no on backorder so should be 3 days from Germany...
  22. You sure it's the linkage and not the hydraulic system starting to fail? If the bite point is moving closer to the floor then it will cause the above!
  23. Leaky fuel injectors or seals would make it drop like that - G60 should hold a decent pressure for quite a while!
