Your likely to knacker the dizzy doing that tho - best to stick it in a vice...
-
No worries - Dizzy needs to come off to change the arm really so we can test the Hall effect sender at the same time...
-
Just to add to the above - isn't there an arrow ontop of the fuel pump housing - maybe worth checking this lines up...
-
That's not right, I reckon the guage is hanging 90 degrees from where it should be, it should only move alot under heavy cornering... it shouldn't move at all under normal driving on flat roads... At the end of the day tho it is only a float guage in a tank of liquid so it's never going to be spot on...

Right, just phoned em and GSF don't do a fuel filter for a late 16v so VW it is.... the only problem is it may cost over 20 grand as I have a real urge to buy a MKV GTI at the moment...
-
I'm buying you a fuel filter on my way home - anything else you want? Is the rotor arm in good nick?

60k for a 16V Cam belt
-
VW exhausts are really good usually - I had a Golf on it's original system for nearly 150k miles - it needed a backbox at 145k Are you sure they are genuine - pattern replacements only last 3-4 years usually...
-
Roughly £150 if you get a bit of discount...
-
Dunno the sizes but they're not expensive looking at ETOS

dghodges, yopu may be better off going to a good bodyshop rather than a garage...
-
Jim - I can't believe you've not hear of the Exclusiv!!! - I'll send over bocure on MSN Matrtin - what are you doing with the TDI then??
-
Interesting...
-
All G60 ones should be metal now...
-
Just wondering if it would be better to fit the correct pump for the engine rather than the car's original..?
-
matthewb1985, There is a locking tool but you can use another allen key or the belt to hold it - it is tricky tho but they shouldn't be too tight...
-
Hi - do a search for 'steering and pin' - you should find something...
-
That's your problem then dude - thats a 3 bar pump for an ABF - you need a 4 Bar!
-
Same here with the late G60 (same part number) - VW only listed the VDO item and said I needed a new sender so I tried to get a bosch from GSF (didn't list) then ECP, they said I wouldn't need the sender - it came in but was VDO so still needed the sender... (completly different to the original Pierburg)

eTyres have a good rep but your deffinetly paying for convenience... I always use Mytyres as a guide but my local place always beats them when you factor in the £20-30 extra you'd be paying for Valves, fitting, ballancing and disposal.

   ...and I've got a huge penis so I removed the start button fitted to the TDI so if anyone wants a nice red button with a silver surround already fitted to the lighter surround then PM me...

Best reasonable tyre for low annual mileager VR6
Supercharged replied to craigowl's topic in Drivetrain
Just to add to this - the rainsport 1 would get my vote as a good all round performer, medium wear and reasonable price... Yeah - 5 years old (on the car) is about as old as tyres should get especially on a performance car but you get help them not to crack by using a silicon based tyre dressing every few weeks or after washing... -
Yep - as above the rods come off the rack itself - 32mm nut basically under the steering boot - tricky to get to tho!
-
Yeah - the wires are only for the CL switch on the key, they should be taped up so not shorting - should still work fine remotely... Any moisture getting in the boot? - this kills C/L pumps...
-
Duck tape etc won't last - use black silicon sealent (B&Q)
