  1. I'd have thought he'd checked them Jim as to change them you'll have to get it all setup again...
  2. Jim, change his username!
  3. LOL - I bet 1500 miles... any advance ?
  4. Clear the codes, go for a drive and re-scan... Not seen the first one before but the second is the Cam sensor, the other spped sensor is the crank one but if this was down then the car would not run... with the cam sensor down the car will run around 30bhp down due to loss of sequential injection - not sure if this could maybe cause the first fault as well tho...

    Headlights

They will fit the same as the angel eyes - ie not quite flush... See the KB about converting the early lights to late with new lenses and surrounds

    vsr

One of £500 or so produced by Pierburg... IMO this makes the VR6 engine complete as it is how VW intended it... BigPants - have you spoken to the mad old boy a few doors up from you about it? you know, big garage and 2 Corrado's - he might just be interested... Otherwise i heard Kevhaywire was after one but he wants to cut it in half and weld a cabbage to it or something...
  7. If you unplug it and measure resistance that will tell you if you have a short or completly dead injector (values are in the Bently manual) But - mine checked out ok and the loom is completly shot, burnt, cracked and falling apart and I suspect it's shorting out intermittently... You really need to get it out the car and have a look, it's held on by 2 allen head bolts but the are awkward to get to as it's above the rail and below the inlet...

    Fuse Box

No probs - have a search on here for fuse layout if needed altho this changes depending on year / model etc

    Fuse Box

Welcome to the forum... Same place on all Corrado's - behind a shelf on the drivers side just above the bonnet release... 2 clips to undo then pulls fwd Tells you all about it in the instruction manual - if you've not got one then VW still have a few, about £6 each.
  10. What engine?? Could be the temp sender under-reading with age....
  11. This may help. Volkswagen Group Oil Specifications and their Applications VW 500.00 This is an “old” oil specification and is applicable to engines built before model year 2000 (up to August 1999) Viscosity ratings: SAE 5w-40, 10w-40 or 20w-40 This oil can be used in all petrol and some diesel engines, apart from those referred to under other specifications. VW 501.01 This is another “old” oil specification with exactly the same application as VW 500.00. Viscosity ratings: SAE 10w-40, 15w-40 or 20w-40 VW 502.00 This oil can only be used in petrol engines and is recommended for those which are subject to arduous conditions. It must not be used for any engines with variable service intervals or any which are referred to under other specifications. Viscosity ratings: SAE 0w-40, 5w-40 or 10w-40 VW 503.00 This is a relatively new oil specification for petrol engines with variable service intervals. It includes the AUDI S4, but not the RS4, or the TT and S3 with outputs of more than 180bhp. Viscosity rating: SAE 0w-30 VW 503.01 A new oil specification specifically for the RS4, and the TT and S3 with outputs of more than 180bhp, Passat W8 and Phaeton W12. Viscosity rating: SAE 0w-30 VW 506.01 For all diesel engines, including those with unit injectors, with variable service intervals. Viscosity rating: SAE 0w-30
  12. Give the parts man a slap 535 867 540
  13. Is it a new engine? - they will always run hot for a bit... Water going up to 110c in traffic usually indicates a bad rad fan thermoswitch As above always use OE sensors...
  14. The chap at mine wouldn't sell me green stuff as they've had so many returns - he did me a box of Mintex Extreme's
  15. They are half price for a reason... on a 1.6 Golf maybe but I wouldn't risk it on a G60
  16. Just to confirm that my mate is well impressed with his and showing no signs or corrosion / rust after a 3k miles... I went to buy some G60 ones but GSF don't do them and they've also stopped doing the Pagid FR pads... Brembo do do them for a G60 so I'll source elsewhere or maybe go Black diamond as I fancy trying something new...
  17. Jim - there was a smashed up one too but i think they destroyed it and sold the engine
  18. I know the VR ones are very good value for money and fit well but not sure about the 4-branch

    Clutch

Slave is about £30, look for brake fluid level drop and a pudle ontop of the gearbox
  20. Maplins do some for a fiver from time to time... they also do an automotive one which has a few more features but it depends what you need it to do - the cheapo one will probably surfice... Or, if you want to spend a bit more have a look out for FLUKE ones - very good quality kit (I was lucky to get one free from my dads company)
  21. also mention the word 'ombudsman' You'll have to check this but i'm sure you should have a 'cooling off' period
