  1. Yeah - agree with Mat but also check the electric water pump is working...
  2. Blimey - I wouldn't expect an SP30 to increase it at all, it's almost expected to be standard these days - have you spoke to them on the phone?
  3. In that case it could be a rusty or distorted abs rotor (the part that the sensor looks at) if the sensor is ok... Kerrinmay - check out http://www.vagcom.co.uk
  4. jam3383, Superb - thats what it's all about... I'd get a new oil line and boost return kit off them too... I don't think there is a guide but I'd get some advice of Darren if your fitting yourslef - I think the intercooler needs to blown out with an airline and all boost pipes will need to be cleaned...
  5. Supercharged

    speed sensor

Not sure if one of the microswitches on the spoiler mech could cause this??
  6. Check the part of the pedal that holds the white adapter for the MC hasn't broken it's spot weld... Is it a hydraulic clutch? - if so get it bled - you will need to use a pressure bleeder for this (easy bleed kit) - if the slave is inside the gearbox there will be a bleed valve somewhere near the selectors... What was done in the body shop - take it back if it's related to work they did...
  7. Jeez - what mileage was it on / had it been rebuilt? You should be able to pick a second hand one up for about £350 if you look around but that would then need a rebuild... remember it's not just a case of sticking it on tho - the intake system will have to be thoroughly cleaned and you will need to blank off the boost return pipe.
  8. Hmmm - something may have shorted / come loose but i'd check the ignition switch first....
  9. Sorry I meant SKF (always get it wrong) - they are the OE bearing supplier to VW, cost a couple of quid more and last 3 times as long...
  10. Unplug the sensor wires at the top of the suspension turrets and measure resistance and compare with each other... does the light come on before the car moves? - if so may be a connection problem
  11. VR6Bella, welcome to the forum. Rear bearings are 'taper' style so no torque setting - just hand tight with a split pin Only use SFK bearings - avoid anything else... Change in pairs and you may as well do discs and pads at the same time along with new abs cages if fitted. You can find the procedure in any mk2/3 era Haynes manual but you will need a brake caliper windback tool to do the pads / discs - £15 from GSF etc...
  12. Yeah, similar procedure for VR6 but it's much easier of you remove the front bumper as the clearance between the twin fan setup and inlet manifold is tight to say the least...
  13. Salt in this country does seem to corrode things quite badly but that doesn't look as bad as some originals I've seen... that may be a ECP one as they are a lot lighter than the VAG ones - VAG ones are marked 'Denso-Marsden' on a sticker at the top...
  14. Yep, it's a mk1 part - never fitted to any Corrado 171 721 647 Retails at £3.94 + vat but with discount I paid about £2.50+vat
  15. Nah - shouldn't fail MOT as it only really holds the rad but may do if the bit underneath is rusty as thats the front engine carrier...
  16. They're still available - about £250
