  1. Brakes are vented but same size as the other Polo's so a bit underpowered these days - easy to upgrade to G60 spec tho with 15" wheels... Great cars and faster in standard form than both flavours of mk2 GTi, chip and pulley it and they're ballistic! Cross flow head as standard. The only problem is that mk3 Polo's were all built to a budget and are therefore let down by poor interior build quality and are no where near as solid as the mk2's but the G40 does have the best trim level to get, the pedals are not as widely spaced as the Corrado/MK2 so be careful if you have big feet! They also make great track cars when striped out to make a light car even lighter!, fitting the G60 charger is also an upgrade option altho I'm not sure how much work is involved.

  3. Should be about 4 with filter... stick 4 in and start the engine and top of if needed.

  7. Yep, will take a while from cold but should come on as the guage creeps past half way - about 95c I think...
  8. Change your dealer! Don't buy anything before you've cleared the codes and waited for the light to come back on.
  9. Jeez Jay - I'd have thought you'd have managed to get trade prices with all the bits you buy! - last lot I got worked out as £6.50 +vat... Yep it's good stuff tho and suits most vag engines as long as there not too tired, and yes - it's made by castrol
  10. Guys - just get new ones from VW - about £130 if you get good discount and far superior quality than anything else!
  11. these are similar to the old mk1 golf bolts,, allows you to set teh camber allot easier and also allows a bit more room for adjustment i beleive Yeah - It just locks it in place so it can't be 'knocked' out by pot holes etc..
  12. Yeah - It's worth a try now for the summer months, see if it makes a difference...
  13. The senders are on the plastic flange at the front of the head - plugs are colour coded...

    Relay

    Fan relays are mounted near the expansion tank on ABS equipped cars...
  15. Kev - could you mention 'Magic Camber Bolts' to him - I think Whiteline do them but there catalogue isn't clear...
  16. You'll need a new valve with the axle bushes anyway as it needs to be cut off... the bushes will make a huge difference if the car has done over 100k's
  17. Yep - the dealer MK4 ones have the adhesive backing but you need to sand them down a bit to fit....

    Radiator

    535 121 647 - £7.49 retail inc VAT (same page as rads on ETKA and same part for G60 and VR6)
  19. Yep, clear them first before going any further... you'll need to drive it until the light comes back on and rescan... The BPPS is fairly easy to change but awkward to get to, you need a mirror to see how to unclip the circlip but then it;s just a straight swap - about £50 from VW.

  21. STORM 2, try lightly applying the brakes while turning, this may give you a clue to where it's coming from...

    Radiator

    Dealer or GSF... just top up with water as you won't loose much at all... you will need someone to hold the hose up and out the way whilst you swap the elbow...
