Yep swap the barrel off your old handle or get a new one from VW (about a fiver) Handles are sided so not interchangeable...
-
glen, get the rear bump stops from GSF as they are solid rubber - then hacksaw 30mm off, get everything else from VAG
-
Jez, riing them again and ask to speak to Steve...
-
LOL - do you mean Lidl Rodders?? What - they wouldn't take 2 quid for it??
-
Yep, digifant specific... New (exchange) items are about £100 and come with new cap and arm 037905237X
-
Nice one, i've not picked the unit up yet anyways...
-
 I would have had one - I reckon it's already been replaced...
-
JMC, nice work! I've got one of these on it's way - any chance of a pic of your hacked trim next to the spare so i can see where I need to cut? - or just the cut out will do...
-
ECU unplugged?
-
Chris - glad your ok mate! PhatVR6, whats that picture of Dr. Hannibal Lecter got to do with things??
-
No - axle stands is a must tho.
-
...and check your engine mounts too!
-
The valve probably just needs unseizing mechanically... Look for the block with brake pipes going to it near the rear axel, then locate the spring mechanism next to it, spry loads of WD 40 on it and try and 'free' it with a hammer (being careful not to hit the brake lines) - MOT testers are used to doing this on VW's!
-
What car is it, a late VR6??? - If so you need the early caps from VW...
-
matt_corradovr6, take it back to the garage - the probably forgot to fit the cages to the new discs or distorted them taking them off...
-
It will be the bias valve or rusty handbrake cables if both are seized.... hammer and wd40
-
Yeah, replace the fuel pump relay and you might as well do the ecu relay as well (also critical) Fuse - I assume you checked it didn't blow again?? Any more starting problems - chenge the ignition switch
-
Andy - wait for inters if you can as I bought both calipers (no exchange) and the hoses for £120 2 years ago... your lucky to get change from £200 if you buy all the bits at full price from GSF or C&R which seem to be the best places fo them...
-
Pickard1, what engine is it? You can buy the bits seperatly but the motor comes with a new fan etc anyways if you see what i mean... The other option is G-werks sell some nice low profile ones that give a bit more access in the engine bay
-
Yep, I'd change the fluid first to the VW green stuff.
-
Welcome to the forum... First off all check all you fuses... The alarm thing may just be a deadlock - just the nature of how it's setup Rear light - you may need to bend the contact pins in slightly...
-
It maybe that the sony HU has damaged them by not supplying enough power...
-
Can anyone suggest where the oils coming from (See pics)

Let it leak and degrease it once a year - rust protection system! -
Yeah - they're the best normal ones to get, very low failure rates and 4 year warranty with the calcium ones.
