AArrrggghhh how do you get MK4 front door trims off?
Supercharged replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in Interior
I think there were 5 screws in all when we did my mates window reg and you have to also remove the armrest bit and unplug the electrics... I also remember we had to lower the window for some reason too (told us to in haynes manual) -
Yeah clear them as they may not have been cleared when the sensor was fitted - if it comes back then check it's plugged in...
-
Change the black sender before doing anything else (I'd also buy a blue one too)
-
Did you change the plastic elbow when fitting the Samco's? - If not you really need to and also do the other 2 plastic outlets on the head and the thermostat housing... the go very brittle and also warp with age/heat. The Elbow is easy to change as long as the bolts come out ok (I had to drill one out the other weekend after it snapped) - get the elbow, O ring and 2 new bolts. You should be able to change it with only loosing a minimal amount of coolant. I'd also think about using Jubilee clips on Samco's (I'd always recomend the factory ones for rubber hoses but I've seen Samco's pop off with these) - just be careful not to overtighten onto the plastic parts (the only drawback)

You just need the calipers (sided) and the conversion hoses from Goodridge... (carriers are the same)
-
Yep, the is a note on ETKA to also get the sender unit... muppets!
-
Halfords sell a spline rail for about £20
-
I reckon yeah depending on how wide they are... I'm no great wheel expert tho - if you've got them or access to them give them a trial fit...
-
Adapters make the ET smaller - i.e. a 10mm adapter will give you ET8!!!
-
They need to be bonded - just get a glass firm to do it...
-
The MK3 and C VR6 use the same 5 stud plus suspension so most drivetrain parts and engine / gearbox stull will be compatible...
-
Doesn't matter but parts like the flywheel and ECU are different but the base engine is the same....

Anti-roll bar turns into roll bar

Yummy... -
Yep - rear bump stops (the ones in the kit are too short for the rears as they are also used as spring assisters..) Get them from GSF as they do rubber ones and chop 30mm off the bottoms... Buy genuine top mounts tho
-
Are the pads shiny?? If so take them off and sand them down, bed them back in again... Could be caused by not bedding in properly, sticky calipers or faulty pads...
-
In the same way they need a supercharger and water injection? LOL, Yeah - Kev doesn't take his car on the track but he no longer gets beaten to that last warm Steak and Pepper pasty at Sainsburys on his lunchbreak...

Did early Corrado VR6's have smaller rear brakes ?
Supercharged replied to AmbisoniK's topic in Drivetrain
I thought the difference in pad thickness was to do with if you have ABS or not?? -
Yep, nice one - I'll Wiki it later tonite...
-
Yep, VW still sell them if you still have a standard size battery... If not try the Mk4 ones as they do some bigger sizes and are cheaper but only surround the battery - don't cover it...
-
I think thats right - to be honest it will only go one way without being too slack so I think you must have got it right...
-
I reckon they are just test points for diagnostics...
-
AVS are good but they don't sell genuine stuff?
