The late stuff is still available - about £70 a set...
-
Thats yer dim/dip resister for the lights... don't think it's anything to do with the spoiler circuit...
-
Thats 1.4 TSI engine is already available on the mkV - the mkV will use a 2 litre verison of it!!!
-
Eibachs are good but get all the bushes etc sorted first (or at same time to save labour) OEM bushes all the way...
-
Or the plug wiring is broken...

Ronan, thats just a cropped version of the pic on the Sniffpetrol site i'm afraid... (no hi res)

Yeah just saw that, stopping production and workers sacked imediatlly with no date set to re-start production - I bet it won't be in the UK either! I like the look of them but the reliability is awful, I pass a dealer reguarly in Needham Market and there are always cars arriving on flatbeds... High production costs mean that you can buy a Porche cheaper - did you watch the factory pics on the news?? - hardly looks state of the art....

Picked up a copy of autoexpress over the weekend with a MK6 golf on the front! - can't believe no one has started a thread about this yet! Looks real enough to me from the pics and it's interesting as just as the mkV had started to grow on me since the GTi came out, there are still a few styling bits I don't quite like and these seem to have been fixed looking at the pics... 2008 release set which has been brought fwd as the MKV is not making much money due to it's build quality being 'too' high! - just seems strange as if i was a mk4 owner looking to upgrade I'd probably now wait for the new mark...

Anti-roll bar turns into roll bar
Supercharged replied to The Leningrad Cowboy's topic in Drivetrain
Alright Pauli! - Has the bar actually snapped or just one of the drop links?? Not heard of a bar snapping but I was looking at the original one on the TDi the other day thinking it may do if I leave it rusting any longer... -
ZippyVR6, you nutter, lol!

Don't think any cams really need running in - you just have to let them settle onto the tappets before starting up...
-
Nope - it has a control box that is mounted near the switch... Fuse - VW moved the spoiler onto different circuits depending on model - chack yer manual if you have one...
-
Good link - cheers David!

Yep, all the same - that rear panel easily gets pushed back by the bumper during a moderate shunt...

If it works for a bit (ie doesn't blow straight away) it's usually down to excess current being drawen - work out motors will do this but it's more likely to be resistance in the mechanism for the spoiler... Connect it back up and check the roof works, then try the spoiler manually - if it seems to be ok then spray some silicon spray on the spoiler guides when up and see how it goes... I'd advise you carry a spare fuse as you know it will blow when you have the roof open and it starts to rain  If it's a 15amp then you could try a 20 if it keeps blowing - I wouldn't usually recommend this but VW changed the spoiler fuse from a 15 to a 20 thru production to prevent this very problem (if it blows a 20 tho then you have a problem with the motor or a short somewhere)

Yeah - look for signs of a fluid leak particuarly on top of the gearbox - may not see it tho as the slave leaks internally first - the original ones have a metal insert which rots away, especially if the fluid is not changed reguarly - new ones are plastic inside... Don't drive it if it's that bad as you rish bending the clutch fork, just get sorted asap, take the drivers mat out if you do need to drive it to a garage to give a bit more travel...
-
pink22, Welcome to the forum! What car do you have? sounds like the PAS pump, check the fluid level and the belt for slack...
-
Is it leaking under the gearbox or under the reservoir? If it's the gearbox end it's either the flexi pipe or the slave cylinder, if you can't see it leaking it's the slave leaking internally - £40ish from VW
