  1. Yep, VAG specify that the lot should be done... On the TDI i'm doing the belt, tensioner, idler roller thing and water pump... Andy, good advice - I changed the N75, was about £25 quid on the TDi altho I accidently got charged 75p +vat
  2. Dink, works a bit slow today so let me know if you want me to drive to Cambridge to undo any bolts for you ...
  3. 37906461CX is the only one listed for the AGU engine Should be about £75 exchange The X on the end of the part number denotes exchange, I think they quoted for 37906461C which are £120
  4. Think halfords do a version of it now as well...
  5. Oh - maybe for the 2.0 8v then
  6. Maybe best to contact his company - JD engineering...
  7. Nice one, glad you've got it sorted!
  8. Sender unit is about £40 as I bought one for Eric the other week... I'd expect them to be the same tho but they must have changed them...
  9. The 1.8T's are very reliable, high mileage isn't a problem but I'm not sure about the variable service intervals - I know someone who is on 23k miles since the last change and the car is over 140k, Its not using any oil and it has the thin longlife stuff in there but surely this can't be good for the turbo... Just look out for worn suspension and inconsistent tyre wear, blown interior light bulbs are common and awkward to change, other than that the A3 is one of Audi's most reliably cars ever!
  10. !!! - I'll know where to go when I need a new one then!
  11. Yeah £55 + vat the pair for 312's - thats only a fiver more than the 280's were for the VR!! Pads- Pagid FR are better anyways (£50 from GSF)
  12. Cross-dressed - lol The drilled zimmermans that I took off the TDI the other week were completly fuct, in 2 years and less than 30k miles they were worn well below the wear limit and the also cost 50% more than the VAG ones I relaced them with... I won't be using them again!
  13. Indeed - the voltage will start low and get lower with the resistance of the wires in the loom...
  14. Yeah - that is a bit low and the problem with G60's are that is the voltage at the fuel rail drops below 12 then the ECU will run the engine rich... Check the brush pack on the alternator - black bocsh thing on the side held on by 2 screws... the brushes should be at least 1cm I think so may need changing - £10 from an autoelectrician...
  15. Yep, VAG disks all the way, they just look suppier in quality to everything else and are even balanced, last well and aren't expensive
  16. Right - I have a pair of 312 disks off a Seat which are 5by100 (not multi fitment like the TT ones) and I also have some VR hubs sitting in the garage, I just tried the disks on these and they are indeed bigger - ie they don't locate hubcentricly... not sure how much of an issue this is as the wheels bolt thru and onto the bubs and the wheels will still be hubcentric and the disks should be clamped inbetween.... Joe - I'm not a member on the 'OC but do you want to ask him if they are SEAT disks - ie just 5 by 100 and not also drilled for 512...
  17. Headlights?? - only angel eyes really...
  18. http://www.visionexpress.co.uk The Halfords Calcium batteries are very good, and come with a 4 year warranty... the other thing is that Halfords shift alot of batteries so they won't have sat on the shelf for too long.
  19. Welcome to the forum... Have you had the car on VAGCOM? Sounds like the crank sensor maybe dead?
