  1. Why was the fusebox changed - you checked for loose plugs / relays?
  2. Yep, replace the cap asap... What concentration of G12+ are you running and did you fill the system via the top hose?
  3. on a 16V - that refers to the internal bore size...
  4. Welcome to the forum! Hmmmm... are both rad fans working at all 3 speeds? Bottom rad hose and rad get hot? Is the aux water pump working? Have you changed the expansion tank cap? If not then do so asap...
  5. Yeah, leave it till summer as the dynamat won't stick properly now either...
  6. You need to use a heater or at least hairdryer to heat it up first but even in this weather it's going to be tough...
  7. Steve - let me know if you need a hose and which one and i'll send them up...
  8. Start the car from cold and let it warm up, check the stat opens by checking the bottom rad hose and the rad gets hot, this should happen before the fan comes on...

    pas fluid

    Yep, VW uses it's own PAS oil, do not use ATF fluid as you can damage the seals! If your fluid is not green in colour or the pump is noisy I'd change it but otherwise wouldn't worry - be careful not to run the pump dry tho!
  12. Yep, thats my fault i'm afraid - I abused my mod status and deleted the other 567 replies and offers of various cash amounts and 1 farmyard animal because I wanted to buy it... I've been up all night worrying about what I've done and I feel really bad about it...

  15. Welcome to the Forum... Depends on the driving really - if thats round town then that sounds about right with the price of fuel being what it is... But, In the right conditions the VR6 can be fairly economical for what is nearly a 3 ltr engine - over 1000 miles of mixed driving earlier in the year to the Karmann factory and various other places we got 34 MPG out of a VR and about the same out of a G60 which had done exactly the same journey in convoy...

  18. Works for me, maybe Adobe's browser pluggin not working, try right clicking and 'save as..' then open independently..

  23. I know - I't bl00dy leathal but it's what you need in this weather...! Colin, yeah I still stand by that and I'm only running the above for the next few weeks then i'll water it down a bit more... I usually use Decosol screen wash concentrate and use the weekest mixture they give on the bottle with is 1 to 4 or 5 parts water... the VAG stuff you probably need 10 times water tho!!! I just changed the Aero blades on the TDi which are about 3 years old and didn't look bad at all, they seemed a bit better but still juddered I found which I thought maybe to do with the screen being fairly scratched etc but they seem ok now after doing what it says in this document.. (I never had to do this with the G60 but that has a proper SEKURIT screen on it and the TDI has an aftermarket one from NZ- which I want to replace)
