MK2 Golf or Passat mk3(??) Haynes will cover the engine
-
What exactly is happening? - checked yer fuses?
-
I think the 2.0 16V box from a mk3 is the one to use (apart from another G60 one)
-
Yeah - loom is still available, same as any digi mk2, about £35 from VAG
-
Some are 24 and some 22mm
-
Use a bucket of warm soapy water and be careful not to twist it where it's joined (a weak point)
-
aposegil, there were 6, one is currently underneath the Karmann museum in a storage area after being written off on a local test track, the ECU was sold earlier this year to a german building a 16VG60

I'll sticky this so we don't keep getting dup's... Got an email from Pipeline today and it sounds promising the support they are getting!

Supercharged replied to NickVR6's topic in Exterior
I've heard Stevemac uses it and replaces with Ribena... -
Rebuilt bottom end rings alarm bells - have you had the timing checked, the cam could be a tooth out causing this problem....
-
I'd say the fuel pump is a likely candidate...

SORRY.Lupo Wipers/Dealers (P2 boarderline work safe)
Supercharged replied to NickVR6's topic in Exterior
I bought the last arm and blade set in the country last week so they can't be the correct parts I don't think... The arms should be exactly the same (2 drivers side) The blades should be the same length but one has an offset centre - bassically you need one drivers and one pass from a lupo but use them the other way round on the C -
Anyone converted their 16v from k jet to digifant from a mk3
Supercharged replied to rmn's topic in Engine Bay
Vince has only just aquired the kit to burn chips and will start offering the service next year, you can't chip a K-Jet - it's mechanical injection... -
On a VR or 16V??? (don't think the VR has a cold start valve...)
-
Nope - they may fit physically but they won't look right and match the late ABS light etc...
-
Hmmm - then he shouldn't need spiggotts then..?
-
depends what different centre bore fitments they come in - I certainly wouldn't drive over 60mph with all the forces on the wheel bolts!!!
-
I doubt it as most cars are designed in terms of weight disribution for LHD...
-
I'd say the heavier one is more likely to reduce the consumption...
-
To avoid being pulled by the fuzz?
-
I think you need to check the TPS angles out, again on VAGCOM.
-
Moving to drivetrain...
-
I think the early ones are the same (280mm) but the later mk3 GTi's and VR's went up to 288mm with the larger cailipers and pads
-
What about Tom's sister and the 'naked' engine in the same pic...
