  1. I think thats just dead-locking... a Corrado feature?
  2. Yep, a set of spline keys (Lidl we're going a cheap set) / sockets (Halfords) are worth buying if you're a DIY VR6 owner along with the metal version of the plug lead tool (T10029 from your local dealer)
  3. http://www.amazon.ca is the cheapest place i've found (including shipping over to the UK - not sure about Romania tho)
  4. They're completly different! An early one will fit and they are about half the price of the later ones...
  5. Yeah, thats right - thats VW's idea of a headlight buzzer
  6. Ring X-Spurt Kev, thats where I sent the Starkmeister to get his...
  7. Good work Stan... Jim - do you want to mention this to Eric if he doesn't see it as it could also be added to the next Sprinter...
  8. Printed Circuit Board.. (maybe we should add that to the dictionary..)
  9. I think they are solitudes... are they 14's??
  10. ...traction control was even an option on the late 16v's...
  11. reseated relays/fuses?
  12. You really want ET40 for a VR6 I think so 20mm adapters...
  13. Hmmm... to dark to go and look at the car but fairly sure the solenoid feed is a plug, sorry - when I said fat wire I only meant 3-4mm
  14. Think thats it - fairly fat wire... shouldn't be that hard to get to - how big are your arms!!
  15. Check for 12V to the solenoid plug and also try smacking the soleniod with a big bar!
  16. Just get 2 new water pipes then mate and some new coolant...
  17. With a car of this age and mileage it could fail on anything to be honest... has it had a service recently?? Either go thru the MOT checks as in a golf/passat haynes manual or just put it in for the test and see what they say/advise...
  18. Yeah - no valves... Your maent to buy the mk3 matrix (in built valves) and 2 new water pipes... maybe have a moan and see if you can get them for free?
  19. Bl00dy hell - that must be efficient as it's cooling the air outside as well!!
  20. They are all the same for Corrado's except A/C models... new ones are about £50 plus vat... You can change the brushes easily enough but I've not worked out how to remove the bearings... I'd just grease them as if they are bad enough to need replacement then i'd say it was uneconomical to repair...
  21. Yeah, the OE clamps are not really good enough for the silicon hose, i bought these... http://www.powerengineering.co.uk/mikalor/ They are very good but very easy to overtighten on the plastic flanges so I'm using Jubilees there... Deffo but all new flanges, head, side of head, thermo housing and the rad elbow - they go brittle with age so best to replace them all when changing hoses, I also bought a new expansion tank and cap...
  22. As I recall you were politely asked at least twice to make it smaller, exactly the same thing would have happened on other forums!
  23. Cheers Chris - I'll add the above info to the torque thread...
