HELP!! Suffolk Corrado needs temporary wheels loan!!
Supercharged replied to keystarG60's topic in General Car Chat
keystarG60, yeah, I got a set of 17's - when do you need them as i need to check I can find the spigot rings...) -
They quoted you for VR wishbones... G60 ones are £40 and include bushes (you still need the BJ's tho..)
-
Good to hear!
-
Just buy complete new wishbones (come with bushes already in) from VAG, cheaper and easier...
-
GIXXERUK, good call... Moving...
-
I like it - was thinking about doing this on the TDi as the MK4 shifter sits high and it actually feels like there should be one there!
-
1st and 2nd are sh1te - a 0 to 100 time is a better indication of the power that these beasts output...
-
Well then - what are you on about man! Exactly!
-
pixie, thanks for the feedback!
-
Thats a contradiction in terms.. as you don't know the amount... I'm sorry but giving anyone a blank check is just plain stupid, and also leave you open to fraud etc..
-
I dunno - I'd just buy a G60 one... (they may be the same but not got ETKA here to check)
-
It's meant to be where the cam cover meets the head... Why it isn't pointing up at a mark on the cam cover is beyond me...

I love the way you can't look at it directly as the wing is in the way... maybe jack the engine up but you could still get it wrong quite easily...
-
Lowered on konis and cant use the standard jack

Thats why I like the Halfords 2 tonne jobies... I used to take mine with me to get tyre's changed on the Golf! -
I know what you mean - that does look right but it's not clear at all is it... for something so crucial to be accurate you'd have thought they'd give a more defined mark to line up to! The cam cover should have a dot on each side... I'd wait for Steve or Darren to confirm...
-
Yep, it will be leaking where the impeller meets the pump housing - get a complete new pump from VW, stat, plastic housing, bolts for housing and pulley and G12+...
-
They probably are brand new then, most exchange stuff is in my experience, distributers, water pumps etc I've bought in the past... Also - did you get a price for the 288m calipers? they may not be much more(?) and even if they're exchange, they'd not notice the difference with the old ones coming back (no part numbers)

Corrado spotting! Was it you - [October 2005]

N reg 16v this morning sitting in traffic on Rope walk in Ipswich... -
Well, he's swapped the coil and dizzy - maybe time to check the wiring...
-
Yep, I had a new ball joint fitted yesterday and that got rid of any vaugness I had in a straight line... I can highly recommend the Biessbarth (VAG) machine Stealth have invested in, the car has never felt so planted!

VR6 crank sensor probs ** Now Dastek/Unichip probs!
Supercharged replied to dr_mat's topic in Engine Bay
I got some last week but they sent me the old style ones without the plastic covers... I was up at Stealth yesterday and i'm faitly sure Vince has stock of the Mk3/ABS style hoses (they had 4 lines hanging on display anyway and you'll need the conversion hoses at the back if you go mk4?) -
Lowered on konis and cant use the standard jack

Thats the one then... -
Yeah Mat, I've just done all my brake discs/pads wheel bearings on the TDi as part of a 200,000 mile service, rear calipers, copper lines and hoses too.. Was thinking of swapping the front calipers just because of age and so everything brakes is done at the same time... Do they give you brand new calipers in exchange do you know??
