  1. J1MMY, Welcome to the forum... bristolbaron, I think he has porka seats.. TT dash tho..
  2. chrishill, that part number is for the early (faulty) mk4 MAF, I'm fairly sure that it got superceded to 071 906 461A because of problems with them, you can exchange it for a new one for about £70 from VW (071 906 461AX)
  3. Newer VR engines (24v's etc) have alloy sumps, some baffled, have a search on here for info... Make sure you get a new gasket as well!
  4. Did you fit new top mounts?? Is one wheel different to the other when jacked up, if so sounds like you need to take them off and have another look...
  5. Ah, the upper spring plate on the very late VR6's was different, for instance if you buy H&R springs for a 95 VR you sill need to buy the earlier plates from VW...
  6. Yeah, need to know what engine but there are usually 2 fairly close together, one black and one blue with plugs to match, the black feeding the gauge and the blue being the important one for the ECU Test resistance across sender pins if you think it's dead, no reading (very high)/open circuit = dead Cold engine, remove plug and green clip and pull out sensor (turn and pull is it's difficult) - It should have an O ring which should be replaced as well.
  7. I think my way is best tho... ... 1.9 PD TDi
  8. Moving... (unless this door handle is in your engine bay!)
  9. The original ATE ones have metal casings and 'weld' themselves on, try removing the carrier and disk for better access... maybe get one of those gas lamp things to apply some heat if it's really bad!
  10. Have you taken the plug off and checked for power?
  11. Nope, loadsa different ones, best to speak to a specialist like Stealth and see what they have in stock...
  12. Ragley on sunday maybe?
  13. Yep, have you guys seen the size of the mounts for these boxes!!! With the price of fuel at present, I'd fit the box and the engine personally!
  14. For that matter, why is anything any color at all? In the last Science Theatre column on why snow is white, we said that the light we see things with from the sun, from our light bulbs is called white light and can be broken down into the colors in the rainbow in order of their wavelengths. The snow is white because all the colors are reflected and refracted equally without any color range dominating. This is not so when white light hits objects which we don’t see as white or gray. Most objects tend to reflect only some of the light falling on them. The light contains all of the colors, but the objects reflects selected colors and absorbs the rest. This is called "subtractive color mixing" because some of the colors are subtracted out of the light. Grass appears green because all of the colors in the rainbow are absorbed into the leaves of the grass except green.
  15. Fair enough.. I'd check mine but they are 8's... While your here, maybe you can answer this - Why don't BMW drivers ever indicate??
  16. Is that a 16V GTi!?! - I'm sure I went to look at that maybe 3 years ago for sale, was a nice one but way out my price range - the seller 'forgot' to tell me it was a reshell!
  17. Snap off I think you mean... Get a MOMO one if you hae a momo wheel, the ones Halfords sell are fine also...
  18. Zippo - lol! Well, there is ChrisVR6Nos and CorradoVR6nos on this forum for a start...
  19. Ok, I think it depends if it actually has been scrapped (ie if there is a destruction certificate issued) and, if so, then no you can't get it... Andy - as said above, ring the DVLA, they are usually quite knowledgable and they sell plates themselves remember, explain the situation and they should be able to answer the question over the phone, the only problem may be when you try and check that particular reg as you don't own the car, they may not be able to answer because of data protection.
  20. That sounds ok for a cold engine, that equates to 10-15 Degrees C
