Heated Rear Screen/ Heated Mirrors Fuse keeps blowing.
Supercharged replied to Bora Bora's topic in Exterior
does the ABS stop working at the same time then? -
When was the oil last changed?
-
You were raped by an elephant!
-
Steve, do you have a part number of a standard bolt to replace this?
-
Actually, I think it does say something along those lines in the parkers guide for older (10year+) cars...
-
Yep, that was the problem with mine when I got it, as soon a I pushed the clutch down a few mm then it went away - the previous owner had had the clutch changed by Mr Clutch, the tossers had not changed the release bearing even tho it comes in a kit
-
  - Dom you nutter! Steve, I didn't think the switch was accessible as its inside the boot lock, The thing you see that pushes down is just a damper to assist the boot closing...

I would tell them that mileage is not important on a car of that age and the overall condition is what should be assessed to get a value of the car!

Wire cutters do it quite easily too! -
Yeah, 2 bottles for the 4 cylinders but the VR needs 3 as the cooling system is nearly 9 litres I think!
-
Which bar is aftermarket? - Did you change the ARB? If so it sounds like its fitted upsidedown...
-
 Is it more of a bearing whine?? - Maybe the release bearing is worn and running off centre??
-
Just take the parcel shelf off to see if its staying on with the boot closed
-
Yeah, I used the snap-on one down at Gwerks to get of my old hoses, was sooo much easier than my standard water pump pliers!
-
I think he means the water pump pipes...
-
Eh? *mod edit - deleted your quadruple post... - Henny*
-
Either of the above but NOT the silicon based DOT 5.0!!!
-
I think the Mk4 ones are the way to go...
-
I'va filled it just using the expansion tank a couple of times now, just pouring slowly to avoid airlocks then starting up and running without the cap on until the thermostat opens then as Steve says, check it again and top up if neccessary. I think the top hose method is only really neccessary for th VR6 as there are lots of small water ways etc but its a good tip with any car if you are having problems with airlocks etc...
-
Its not designed for that purpose tho... ATF - Automatic Transmition Fluid....
-
Dom, you have seperate cylinders for the clutch and brakes (thats why there are seperate pedals  ) but the clutch uses the same hydraulic fluid resevoir as the breaks.

There is another thread on here with a similar title i think about Stevemac's issues... I think we'll rename then Chris Knobb from now on.
