:? VW use Pagid!, they are an OE supplier.. the VW prices are cheaper than GSF with discount but they don't sell the Fast Road variety.
-
That may be for Boost pressure as the MFA also has a diagnostic / servive mode that gives alot of extra info, available on all cars I think but mure info is available on the older ones.
-
Shell are also bringing out V Power in Europe, supposedly 98 RON minimum http://www.m3supercar.com/fuels_v_power.pdf

Oops - sorry mate  Don't talk to me about PCworld tho!!!
-
You mean you actually had to walk into a Dixons store and buy something!
-
Yes the VW ones are much better grade metal than the stuff you get from Kwicksh** and last ages but if you need more than one section you may as well get a custom system with a lifetime warranty - the Powerflow one on mine is proper off the hook!

Trustworthy Honest Servicing, does it really exist???
Supercharged replied to StormVR6's topic in Suppliers Forum
You can get up from amazon.com dude, they used to be on the .co.uk site but I think people used to get them from the US because they were still cheaper. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... s&n=507846 Remember I got one though which your welcome to borrow anytime. -
You can pay 45 quid for an Oil change which is expensive but they will stamp the book. The funny thing about the Oil is they will actually use Castrol GTX Magnetec which is twice as expensive as the 'recomended' Syntha they sell! On one of my old service reciepts they have charged for no less than 3 air filter elements and they also tried to charge a mate of mine for 5 spark plugs for his... wait for it... '5 cylinder' 1.4 Golf!
-
Yeah, Pagid FR Pads are great with the original discs and should be even better matched with the Pagid groovers...
-
I see your going for the ps/2 keyboard conversion!
-
I had the 35mm springs on my Golf, good ride for the wonga but they always creaked in the wet!
-
Yup, they are indeed and the FRP ones look alot better than the ones in that pic They don't seem to tilt back very far but that maybe a restriction of the subframes in the FRP. PS - do you also have fun calling your mates car a Cougor or a Tigra?? :D
-
Correct, the 2.0 16v is the same group as the G60

exturbo2003, I have an old clifford matrix in mine, but only have one keyfob which worries me slightly (also having passat handles) Is it posible to get a new fob made / copied so I have a spare?? Or maybe just fit the one I have into a newer case as mine has a crack in it??
-
Yes, defenitly a design fault, I have a kenwood one I wouldnt mind getting fixed if anyone wants to do a write up or can provide info?
-
BTW - the filter I have with the VW part number on it is made by MHO Germany I would have thought the MANN one is made to the same spec tho...
-
Yeah, like I said the fully synth seemed fine in mine but if you get the Oil light coming on at all I would go back to the silver The filter sounds ok, It must just be there version of the VW one (the dealers normally have these in stock) - as you say the one that was on there sounds like a standard golf one.
-
Yeah, It makes me laugh when you here of these people having a crash and not holding a driving license, then they ban them (!?!) - If they didn't care in the first place chances are they'll do it again  - and yes, most of them probably drive to and from court!!

will A3/A4 leathers fit a corrado without to much mod
Supercharged replied to corradog60's topic in Engine Bay
A friend of mine has fitted them into a Mk2 using Corrado subframes for the front as they would sit too high on golf ones and the rear fits in but only just! Corrado benches into golfs leave a bit of a gap so it sould be a squeeze but I would have thought it was possible, not easy tho, would need to do some welding! -
Just stick to the Quantum Silver Syntha, its good quality and the fully-synth is too thin and because its cheap you can change it more reguarly - I do about 6000 miles per year in mine and change it twice a year now (once with a filter), 4 or 4.5 litres with filter change which works out nicely as mine uses about a litre every 3k miles Other synthetic oils can lead to oil pressure problems in the G60 and I have heard other problems like Shell Helix / Castrol GTX causing oil cooler failures. I did however put the Gold quantum in mine just after I got it and it was fine but had to keep topping up as my sump gasket was leaking, when I did the gasket just put the silver back in, I think the Gold leaked more noticably than before because its so thin. Also important to use the correct filter (037 115 561 - £5) as it has a smaller mesh to protect the charger.

No, best to bed them in properly otherwise the Pads will shine up and squeek! It took about 500 miles to fully bed in my fast roaders... I started to break harder after 300 but noticed they got considerably more responsive over the next 200 as well, highly recomended!

Sounds good to me
-
Not sure about actually running it but if you take the belt off then you can check for excess play or noisy bearings etc...
-
I think most of us use them now and again, they aren't generally as cheap as Eurocarparts put are pretty good for OE stuff cheaper than the dealers.... ...beware tho - they do sell some stuff which is very cheap and poor quality.
-
I thought it was ABS as some cars have it and some don't...
