  1. This usually happens whern the ARB is fitted upside-down!!!
  2. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?3167-Emergency-Ignition-Switch-Bypass&highlight=ignition+switch+emergency
  3. Lol, just got the email and was about to post... at the end of the day £995 is a bargain for any straight Corrado, especially a VR
  4. Which brakes front or back?? Either way new calipers are cheap from VW on exchange so I'd get new ones
  5. As above - needs to be reported to Police within 24hours - this is the first thing you should have done then find out about CCTV. Once you have a crime reference number call your insurance and let them take it from there.
  6. I'm not sure I would tbh Pete - heard all sorts of bad things about Godspeed - expensive kit that doesn't last and virtually no aftersales service!
  7. Really? I thought that's exactly how they had to be. Lining up two dots opposite each other seems pretty logical to me. Yeah I must admit I thought so too...
  8. Mate, email me tomorrow... Mine came from GPC in April last year, £60 +vat I think thats a TPS price you've quoted - they will only offer 10-15% off 'normal' parts where a dealer might do 30-40%
  9. (with discount and without VAT though) Not when I bought mine... Prices all went up on the 24th though so it's probably more like £80-90 now
  10. Heat and oil kill it - the later stuff is still available, around £70 from VW
  11. Are you using your car as a generator to run your house?
  12. only if you do it with the car in a safe place, like this :D FerrisBueller.jpg[/attachment:1qkcay3t] haha - Ferris
  13. How very British of you :D "Oh well, can't be helped, let's go for a spot of luncheon, whato!" Thing is Yan doesn't do 'socials' - I reckon he just went to play on the Xbox...
  14. WTF - you don't have much luck in the cylinder head dept do you? Give me a call tomorrow mate, was down at the G-spot today and Darren was asking how you were getting on...
  15. That wire usually feeds the starter motor soleniod - you'll see the single white plug from the engine bay... I hope they have used the correct gauge wire when they re-routed this connection
  16. If you've got a txt output from VAGCOM on file then this will show the ECU part number...
  17. Just go to VW mate - not expensive at all for a new one
  18. Maybe stick a pic up but you can't really go wrong... The car - does it do anything at all when you turn the key - ie turn slowly or dash lights dim etc?? Where was the starter from - I've had a refurbed starter from GSF that did what you describe becuase the solenoid was dead...
  19. Yep... does it not do anything at all then??? When checking 12v to the solenoid plug maybe check the connector inside the plug, check the water seal is there etc... Could then try feeding 12V straight onto the solenoid from the battery
  20. Nothing to do with relays mate but I would look at the alarm / imobiliser if fitted - maybe a fuse hidden somewhere... All you do when you turn the key to crank is send 12V down the thick red / black wire to the starter solenoid, this engages the starter and cranks the engine. (The circuit for this only involves the battery and alternator) Take the single wire plug off the starter solenoid and look for 12V when key is turned to crank, if you don't get any then it's an Alarm / Ignition / wiring issue If you do get 12V then it's a dead solenoid / battery / earth wiring issue - could also be a problem with the brass bush in the gearbox etc... Do you have AA cover or similar? - If so call them out, should be able to diagnose quickly.
