  1. I'm still not sure anything is actually faulty here... I assume you are using the original syncro gearbox with speedo cable - if so that explains the speed sensor fault. The TPS needs settimngs up - have basic settings been done??
  2. Guy hartley used to have the kit to do this back in the day... VAGTACHO doesn't work but you just need the right kit to overwrite the eeprom.
  3. Doesn't the throttle angles just need re-calibration after the work?
  4. Haha... not quite that bad, I get them from GSF!
  5. You'll find the front WB bushes hardly wear at all but then again they are cheap as chips or you could go for new wishbones and swap the rear bush... no sleeve for the rear bush either like the MK2 as the subframe was modified - you will also see an extra bolt hole on the Corrado subframe to the body. The MK3 top mounts fit fine and most of us are using them as they give an extra bit of ride comfort - you need the bearing which is now plastic (MK4 part), the rubber mount and what VW call a 'threaded bush' - the upper spring seat of the coilover needs to be flat though for the bearing to sit on, most are... have a search on here for more info on this and pics, been covered many a time.
  6. These are less than a fiver from VW
  7. Yep, it's almost all MK2 Golf 'Base' suspension but there is a bigger G60 front ARB already fitted and the rear beam is also from a MK2 but G60 specific with an inbuilt torsion bar. If you're used to MK2's then the Corrado should feel familiar but with noticeably better handling characteristics and more aerodynamic at higher speeds. As you say replace everything in one hit to make the most out of it and keep it reliable with equal wear on parts. I'd stick to genuine VAG stuff on everything as these seem to be the only parts that last, Replace anything rubber, all ball joints and bearings... MK3 4-stud stuff won't fit as the wishbones were modified to mate the length of 'plus' suspension but the later top mounts with separate bearings are a good idea, especially with coilovers. TT/R32/LCR rear wishbone bushes are another one as they are solid rubber and give better braking stability.
  8. One thing you might also be interested in is that you can replace those 2 metal brackets with the plastic carrier from a late Corrado or Mk3 Golf (A3 Rabbit?)
  9. Just buy new from VW mate - not expensive
  10. You may find it's the pedal that's sticking on something like the shelf - look at this first then bleed as you say...
  11. But sometimes Autodata is under becuase of issues you get with old cars etc... I can't imagine even VW would quote that long?
  12. Lol, Who was that? - The same place that charges a million pounds to do a set of brake lines by any chance? 2 hours is more like it, trying to think if the Shrick makes it any quicker or more tricky - either way it has to come off... I remember watching Kev getting his done at Stealth a few years ago - I think that was done in an hour or so, just proves it's worth traveling sometimes to go to somewhere that knows the engine inside out.
  13. No worries - you might want to also look at Eurocarparts as there was a 20% off code and they are free delivery... also they sell Contitech belts too which are the same as VW supply
  14. Ah ok - probably best to get the whole unit then, these are around £70 from VW or there is this - http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info. ... cts_id=574
  15. Always worth putting what year and car you have? If it's a VR then it may be a cheap fix... http://wiki.the-corrado.net/vr6_belt_te ... epair.html Moving to suppliers...
  16. Yeah that hole was for gauge wiring but it's not cut out on all cars...
  17. New one on eBay at a good price!
  18. Hi mate - All I'm doing with that gauge is sticking an axle stand under the wishbone so it doesn't move and setting it to O (you adjust it) then making sure it's at zero again when doing the suspension bolts back up... it's not perfect but gets it very close - I'd still advise a full suspension setup though after any work like that, it's well worth it and the car has driven perfectly ever since! Brake sheilds correct as it's a MK4 one - the idea I think is that they protect the brakes from a CV boot fairlure plus water etc...
  19. Yeah the Audi interior lighting is amazing... The W8 light doesn't include a sunroof switch so would be perfect, especially as it's a late car as if you had a sunroof you'd have to fit an early motor cover and switch
  20. Yep... 863 VAG 141 8BJ £55.00 INC VAT Only available in Black now...
  21. What about the W8 light Dave - viewtopic.php?f=19&t=40735&start=45
  22. Yeah the rears never were a great fit to be honest... Noticed they've changed these mats again and seem to be better quality than ever now with a proper stitched logo - also sourced locally so made in the UK somewhere!
