Changing the size of your wheels does not alter the ride height, as the lower profile tyres compensate the larger wheel size. However, C's on 17s and normal ride height do look like 4x4s so normally a 20-30mm drop compensates for the visual effect of the larger wheels. Personally, I have a C on 17s and normal ride-height... and it actually looks fine. And on every drive, I still ground out, clip the front chin spoiler.. so I won't be lowering it yet! I do agree with keeping a Storm a Storm.

Sadly, incorrect. Did you know it's now legal for the local councils to hide GATSO cameras ? They don't have to be yellow any more, and can be hidden out of sight due to a high court ruling!

However, it was recently proven that Corrado-Forum.net stickers give a minimum 50bhp increase when stuck in the car. Ok, maybe not.

:?: Any head unit that has a phono/RCA output, should have a remote-lead output. You should pull the wire from the back of the headunit - not VW's loom. Why would you move the fusebox? What's that got to do with the price of cheese?

When I lasted checked, my eyes didn't emit any light. The light let into the cabin, and what you can see out of it, is exactly the same....

I didn't cut the pipe - all the original pipework is in tact - thats a new little bit of tubing with the cap in it. So still reversable.

I have been involved and informed of this incident from many angles before this post was made. I can't comment on the work, since it is beyond my knowledge on engine mechanics, but I do know that John is human, and human's make mistakes. I'm sure things like this happen all the time from garage to garage - mechanics do blinding jobs day-in-day-out then have a stonker of a day and the result is a very unhappy customer. I am not defending John, nor am I defending Ant, I am just trying to ensure this doesn't end up being a damaging slanging match. I am glad the problem is finally sorted and I'm sorry John didn't notice the mistake, but 'stuff' happens.

Cos I have aircon, which takes up two slots at the bottom of the left button array with "Norm" and "Max" buttons - so the ABS was moved to the useless "Unleaded fuel" panel, it would seem. Or whatever is usually there in a late-spec C.

There's a mirror-tinted window on the side of the Guardian building on Brighton Road, Croydon - quite a few metres high and wide - perfect for watching :) Hehe

And ...... the dials I designed are for C's that rev to 7k only. I think the 1.8 16v revs to 8k, so the rev. counter will be wrong. Sorry! :(

Right, getting a few questions here, so I'll add some more detail. It isn't an easy job to do - well, I didn't find it easy, since you have to work out all the holes for the needle rest, digi panels, etc etc. But I'd be able to do it in 1/6th of the time now I've done it once. The original dials are underneath - so the paper is resting up against the metal (yes, they're metal!) dials. You can poke the holes through into the holes in the metal to help the paper grip in place a bit. For cutting out the digi-panels, I used a very sharp scalpel. A small craft knife would do the same. A stanley knife would be too rough and imprecise though. It is easier to line everything up if you take the dials off - the two left needles are easy - the speedo and rev counter, I used a fork to lever them off. You need to pop the speedo over the needle-rest to see where it stops. For me it stopped pointing at the bottom left corner - pretty much the exact location 0mph would be. The water temp and fuel needles are on crappy plastic things which are a pain to get in the right place when putting back together. Be careful with these, think I was a little too brutal and water temp didn't move when I tested it all... can't be bothered to work this out - will see what happens when I go for a long drive. The paper is only 120gsm Matt Photo paper. Heavier would be better. Don't know if Gloss would be - I printed out both, and decided Matt - gloss looked a little too shiney. You'll need a program like Paint Shop Pro, or Photoshop to print the dials out. Goto the Print Preview, and use the numbers in red to set the size. They're in mm/milimetres. As for the accuracy. The speedo is spot on (nice one Jim!). The rev counter is slightly out, but then they're not exactly mega-accurate anyway, so.... I think that's it.. Any more questions, just ask. P.S. Yup. They're also a bit of a mismatch of early-spec and late-spec Corrado too.

No problem with the frosty film I have on mine either. Passed through a MOT at a large Seat garage no problemo. VW - 1 week waiting list for MoT. Seat - "we could fit you in in about an hour" Same size outfits in Derby (i.e. huuge). Madness.

I can recommend the PDM loom. Have it on mine - works a treat, very neat construction, and reversable if for some sadistic reason I wanna pull it all out. I've even uprated the bulbs now too. So if you see a bluey-white v. bright headlight'ed C doing 100+ on the M25/M1... probably me :)

I agree, sounds like a sticking caliper. Not serious though, as most cars do this if left for a while with the handbrake firmly on. Try parking on the flat with the car in gear and the handbrake off. Come back to the car the next day and drive off - no clunk, no stick, therefore just a sticky caliper. Mine do it after a cold night - I know they need doing soon but they were more than sufficient to pass the MoT so not that bad.
