  1. At least it gives people a choice, the Volkswagen range really does cater for virtually everyone. Just read that the MK6 Golf is 17% cheaper to produce than the MK5, its things like this that make relatively low volume products like the Scirocco viable. The GTi would get my vote over the Scirocco I'm afraid.
  2. Yes supply is reducing but the $64,000 question is whether demand is reducing at a greater or lesser rate than the supply. I think in due course the C will become very much sought after but thats a good few years off yet
  3. Must admit the GTi is a better looking hot hatch than the Scirocco is a coupe. http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArtic ... lf/235119/
  4. My switches arrived back today - great service and was kept updated all the way down the line - switches look so much better with the blue LEDs
  5. Are you serious Judith - hope you're OK, was it the Storm or the trusty 8V
  6. ...apparently not at all Shell stations but many are offering V Power at the same price as normal unleaded tomorrow
  7. I've got Lupo wipers on mine and they are superb, however I have not used them all year, even in torrential rain. Applied this earlier in the year and its so much better even than Rain X which I'd previously thought was superb http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/s ... hp?t=66661

  9. Good man Jim, for a few moments I thought you were were going to say that you were considering re-training as a hairdresser. Scirocco is a nice car but it ain't no Corrado
  10. Safely say that 6 cylinder engines on the Golf platform will never be seen again, Scirocco is much more likely to get an uprated 2.0TFSi than anything else. Also the TDi engine being dropped into the Scirocco will be the new 138bhp common rail unit - I'm pretty sure more powerful versions will follow though Just discovered that the alloation of Sciroccos has been increased for the UK, this usually happens when EU sales are below expectations - I would not rule out a discount being available on them pretty soon
  11. The trade is panicking about p/x prices on big engined and / or 4x4's. One dealer group I work with had about 20 Touaregs in stock, last month they had to write them down by the tune of £50k, thats not just a figure on a balance sheet, its got to be found somewhere. I'm just glad I run older cars that won't be affected by the VED hikes and big rises in depreciation. Buying new has always been a mugs game, now its a game for the insane
  12. There is only ever one winner when Wendy races someone
  13. Just followed the guide below - not that difficult as long as you are patient - I'm not :D http://www.bayerne36.com/Carbon%20How%20To.html
  14. If you buy another car you might just end up beginning to repeat the process that you are probably a fair way through with your current one - difficult decision to make, if I was you I'd probably stick with the devil I know
  15. You're right - the Passat CC is the best looking car that Volkswagen have made since the Corrado. Looks much better in the metal than in pictures
  16. On looking at the last few laps again I don't think Hamilton helped the situation. Whilst he did allow Raikkonen past again he did not reallty appear to back off allowing him the chance to re-take the position. If he had just left it for another corner or two I don't think there would have been a problem. Still think it was a very harsh decision though
  17. Ian - we could really do with meeting up and seeing if we can sort out a regular Shropshire meet, possibly tying in to the Midlands Breakfast club at RAF Cosford
  18. Probably a delay to many of the committee being on the German Karmann trip. CrazyDave - the clubs webmaster is definitely on that trip - I'm sure you will get an email in the next few days once everyone is back
  19. I'm surprised that the FIA didn't declare the last two laps null and void because of the rain so that Kimi could still be declared the winner. Perhaps they should just be honest and give each Ferrari driver and the team a 20 point head start at the beginning of each season
  20. FIA have demoted Hamilton from 1st to 3rd for gaining an unfair advantage by cutting the corner on his first overtaking of Raikkonen - even though he gave him the place back. I doubt that would have been the decision if Hamilton had got a prancing horse on his car.
  21. I could do with my electric window, sunroof and mirror switches doing in blue - 5 in total Bulk discount?
  22. And how are any of us going to get someone to give us a brand new Scirocco, even for only a few days - would be nice but not going to happen :( Perhaps we should lobby Volkswagen for a few days each with one
  23. Always had my C insured with a well known broker in these circles, was a bit suprised to see my quote this year was for £399 - ok all mods declared and agreed value but I have maximum NCB and am now classed as an old git at 41 today. Went to another broker and got a like for like quote of £260, rang my original broker back and they price matched. On one hand I'm happy with a much reduced price, on the other hand a bit miffed that I could have naively paid £140 more than I needed to
