  1. Not that many more Corrado's I can buy now so starting to buy VW Group models that I like - got a few Audis, Lambo's and some other VW's. The other bigger cabinet has a small selection of my other models, would love to be able to display my 300+ Alfa models but don't think thats going to happen any time soon.
  2. I've run loads of assessment days - best way to recruit into most jobs, puts people in real life situations, allows you to see how people interact with other people etc etc People start getting kicked out after the first hours, those that are left at the end of the day are generally offered a job. Some of the assessment centres I have run have only lasted three / four hours if there are no quality people there, others have gone on for eight / nine hours and resulted in 2 or 3 people being offered jobs.
  3. ...and they are now sold out http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/news/defau ... ryId=17299
  4. I'm seriously tempted - means giving up weekends to work again but the package in terms of earnings is superb and as a consultant for a good few years I'm starting to wonder if all I can do is talk about what to do as opposed to being able to actually do it - I feel the need to prove to myself that I can do more than just talk the talk
  5. Its one of the things that appeals to me about going back to working at a Volkswagen dealership - been offered a job as a General Sales Manager at a big site with 12 sales execs - one of the big plus points is that I will get a damned good car with no tax to pay (technically all cars as classed as pool cars) - the position means a Touareg, R32, R36, GTi, Eos etc - tbh I'd be very happy with a GTi

    Personal Plates

I'm pleased I have a genuine G60 plate - only bought it a couple of years ago for the grand sum of £160 including the retention fee
  7. I thought the parcelshelf straps were rare - was hoping to retire on the 500 sets that I have bought
  8. John - yes I have, bidding on a few items - now trying to make sure I don't end up with duplicate models - got too many already
  9. Never seen one of these before - that takes the collection past 30 now
  10. Got them on the Bora, good grip in both dry and wet conditions, seem to wear really well, fronts are getting low but only after 22,000 miles
  11. Looking stunning as ever Steve, everything about it gels together really well
  12. You're right the R8 is in a different league but the A5 / S5 is a lovely looking car in the right colour and with the right wheels. My sister is considering an A5 and she can't believe how much better in the looks in the metal, she had originally discounted it because she thought it looked too plain. RS4 is in a different league compared to the S5 but the only fair comparison with the S5 is to the S4 where, not surprisingly they are virtually identical.
  13. I have, although it wasonly for about 10 miles. Typical Audi build quality, but a slightly detached driving experience - almost too refined. Definitely looks much better in the metal than in photographs and I'd have one like a shot - although I think for now the pick of the range would have to be the 3.0 TDi - most of the "real world" performance of the S5 with a really appealling engine note and 30mpg.
  14. Been into detailing my own cars for a good couple of years now and decided to offer my services out - only want to do one car per weekend and can do it either at home or I am prepatred to travel as long as petrol costs are covered. Will not initially be offering machine polishing as I'm still on that particular learning curve and do not want to practice on other peoples cars. Want to offer a bespoke service and happy to discuss individual requirments, happy to work on interiors / exteriors or combination of the two. Only use good quality products, will be offering a selection of waxes and sealants to the individuals specific requirements - currently have twelve different waxes that I could offer Happy to offer a full money back promise if not completely satisfied - this is never going to be full-time for me but I'm one of these sad people that seems to loving cleaning cars - I'd like to think that the cleanliness of my Corrado is testament to the fact that I do know what I'm doing.
  15. Over 3 years - comfortably the longest I have ever owned a car
  16. If it goes for sub £50 its a relative bargain, I've got all three Revell Corrado kits and paid in excess of £50 for each of them
  17. Not just vinyl circles, they have the proper clear coating on them so they have a dome shape to them
  18. Kip - the IROC is a new release Norev. The garage scenes have been unavailable for ages, they were made by Schuco, the only three I have ever seen for sale I bought
  19. Corozin - agree totally. I'm always being asked how fast my Corrado is - tbh, I don't know how much power it has, how fast it is, I don't really care - I love driving it, I love the way it looks, I don't care that there are faster, longer, lower, more powerful, more economical, expensive cars available
  20. Local Company, just give them your wheel centre diameter, preferred colours and an idea of the design you want, they will come up with a couple of options, e-mail them over to you and once you've chosen they'll produce them and get them out to you within a couple of days. Excellent service and quality. If anyone wants any PM me and I'll sort them out for you - maybe a couple of quid per set more than I paid as I know the person who owns the Company and he supplied them at cost plus a bit.
  21. Bargain at £12 for a set of four made to own design
  22. KADVR6 - no problem. Please don't think I mess people around - I just don't want a car that I've invested a fair amount of money and a lot of time in to go to someone who will just trash it - I'm sure once your mate sees it he'll understand where I'm coming from
