  1. Superb, definite improvement in ride quality and steering feel, this obviously could be more down to the tyres than any decrease in unsprung weight but whatever - I'm glad I bought them
  2. Thats a bargain price - mileage is totally irrelevant to me, the condition and history are far more important and this is top notch in both respects. Just hope it goes to a good home, pity we need a practical car for the little 'un otherwise I'd buy it for Sarah and sell her Bora
  3. The stance couldn't be better - looks superb Rob
  4. Thats because I'm only three days old and haven't worked out how to switch users yet - give me a break here
  5. No, daddy says that it will always be supercharged - one of my godparents is a Rotrex agent though so if I smile nicely and don't sick or poo on him I might get one of those as a christening present  I was a bit miffed that my car seat fitted perfectly in the back of the car - thats because Mummy made him buy a Graco car seat base because she said she is too thick to fit a car seat without a base - I'm going to ask the doctors to check me over and make sure I haven't inherited Mummys intelligence
  6. IIRC the 3.0 litre engine produced 240 bhp, 0-60 was about 6 seconds and topped out around 150. Considering its a heavy car the performance always seemed strong in relation to its power output, mind you, Porsche always seem to have stronger horses than other manufacturers
  7. Nice - isn't the Sport the same as the Club Sport but with a lot of the luxury items put back in
  8. My name was chosen months ago, perhaps my mum and dad have physic powers  As for my first journey - unfortunately I'd just been fed and was tired so I was asleep for the whole 20 miles - daddy was not very pleased - in fact he said that when I'm a bit older he's going to tape me to a long stick and push me underneath the car so I can clean the dirt off it - I hope he was joking For some reason daddy took a photo of me next to a new round black thing that he'd said he had just bought - I don't understand grown ups.
  9. Toad - Mrs665 noticed as soon as I pulled up outside the hospital this afternoon - she admitted that she was wrong and that the wheels really suited the car - amazing what motherhood seems to do to women - a reasonable Mrs665 - wonders will never cease
  10. Sounds like the 3M detailing tape - much better taking the stick off other people and buying a bonnet bra
  11. Goldie Keeping the previous wheels but might respray them myself in an anthracite colour - then again I've had several people wanting to buy them - I'll wait and see Yes, the sealant I've used on the wheels is the one I've recommended to you - two coats followed by two coats of Poorboys Wheel Wax on the inner rims, should keep them pretty clean for a while - or at least easier to keep clean
  12. Got the wheels fitted today after applying several coats of Jetseal 109 to make sure they are as easy as possible to keep clean - quite pleased with the results. Difference in weight is amazing and has definitely improved the ride and steering feel.
  13. Give JMR a call on 0797 4020031 - its made by Miltek to Johns design, its not cheap and you can't see it but I definitely don't regret upgrading to it
  14. Is it more power or more drivability you want? My G60 already had a FMIC fitted when I bought it - the best change I've made to the car is one that is very rarely talked about. I got a JMR big bore downpipe fitted together with a ported and matched manifold - the improvement in drivability was incredible. The car will pull with no problem at all from 20mph in fifth if I'm being really lazy, really seems to have improved the torque throughout the rev range. Also improved fuel economy as well
  15. I faced the same dilemma a few months ago. Was also hankering after a Golf G60 and put mine up for sale. Drove a couple of Golf G60s and they just didn't feel as good to drive. After also taking into consideration how much it would cost me to bring a new purchase up to the same standard as my Corrado I realised that it didn't make sense from either a £ or driving enjoyment point of view.
  16. Wish I could see that kind of figure from my Passat - driving like a fairy I can just about scrape 30mpg but most of the time its around 24-25mpg Even with 5 valves per cylinder I don't think the Audi lump is particularly efficient - plus the 4wd doesn't help
  17. Surely the point of the IROC is NOT to compete with the TT but to take a place in the market immediately beneath the TT to provide natural progression within the Volkswagen Group. Volkswagen have repeatedly said that the IROC will top out with the 2.0 TFSi (not stated in what tune and I have seen several comments about a stripped out, more focussed IROC coming on stream later on in its life) and will not have a V6 option or 4Motion - clearly this would start to encroach on the TT. I have driven the 1.4 TSi and been very impressed with it - transition from supercharger to turbocharger is imperceptible and at no time have they felt underpowered - just feels like a typical normally aspirated 2.0 litre. Many manufacturers are looking at putting small capacity turbocharged engines into their bigger engined cars in a bid to reduce emissions - I believe the next Vectra and Laguna will be available with such engines and I've heard rumours that the Passat will become available with the 1.4 TSi engine. At the other end of the scale the Mercedes S class will be available with a 2.2 litre twin turbo diesel by the end of the year - thats a very small engine in a huge car
  18. Lovely car. Are Autodelta still in Park Royal - used to have dealings with them when my (first) wife had a Cinquecento Sporting - really know their stuff.
  19. How much was the OE expansion tank Jim, I want to tidy up my engine bay some more and its something I'd like to replace
  20. New wheels not arrived yet - hopefully tomorrow Also not arrived is Andy665 Junior - now 6 days overdue and absolutely no sign of anything happening - we're off to Italy in 15 days so we're now cutting it pretty fine
  21. Jim - just doing some scanning for Walesy and have that copy of Classic Cars as well - I'll get it over to you shortly
  22. I have been looking for a squareback to play around with - reckon they can be made to look really cool, slammed on small and wide alloys
  23. That looks nasty At least it gives you an opportunity to underseal the floorpan pretty easily
  24. Found this site http://stores.ebay.de/Noro-Tuning-Shop_ ... QpZ2QQtZkm Modified model Corrado parts and lots more besides, well wrth a browse:lol:
