  1. I fully understand why people undertake on a regular basis. I drive over 1,000 miles per week and the brainless dimwits who sit in their own little world in the midle lane seriously get on my t*ts. If they have space to move over to the inside lane (not the slow lane) then I flash my lights, this usually gets one of three responses: 1. A finger 2. A move over in to the inside lane and then straight back out once I've got past 3. Zero response because they have not got a clue that there is someone behind Middle lane hoggers are a serious problem on the roads and the police don't seem to give a stuff - the view seems to be that travelling at 80mph makes you a dangerous criminal but driving without due care and attention (as it surely is) and causing untold hold-ups and frustration is perfectly acceptable - if they did not see it as acceptable the they'd be doing something about it. Undertaking IMHO is a symptom, not the problem itself
  2. According to a contact I have in Audi, confirmed orders are actually stretching into 2009 but they are expecting supply to free up in 2008 as people drop off the list as soon as they stop commanding a premium over list price. I would imagine that they are concerned that it could go the same way as the sublime NSX - awesome car that they couldn't sell for love or money.
  3. Once you've been Nuggetted there is no going back
  4. Maybe with his win bonus he can afford some voice coaching to get rid of the monotone drone. Most wins of the season and most points so definitely a deserved winner though
  5. Really nice to see such a gentleman in F1 - incredibly dignified when being interviewed - shows a lot of other people in F1 how to behave in defeat
  6. Great last lap for Hamilton: 1st - Massa 2nd - Hamilton 3rd - Boring Finn 4th - Alonso Puts Hamilton in a decent position for tomorrow - getting tense now
  7. ITV4 - 3pm - Goodwood Revival ITV4 - 4pm - Four-stroke powerboats ITV4 - 4.30pm - F1 qualifying
  8. 15,000 Euro fine for McLaren, no penalty on Hamilton thankfully
  9. They did exactly the same with the Fox - never been less than a 16 week wait for a £7k car - the Eos was until recently a 20 week wait, wonder what the wait for the Tiguan will be like
  10. Week 9 (early March) is the earliest available build slot for a BlueMotion in right hand drive, I actually checked with the sales exec on the system - not that I'm buying one of course, I don't think I could handle the power
  11. We would all accept that something like an R8 etc is going to have a lengthy waiting list but generally the product is good enough to get away with it. Walk in to a Volkswagen site today and order yourself a sexy little Polo BlueMotion, you know, one of the most desirable small cars on the market and expect to wait until April 2008 before you can take delivery - who in their right mind is going to be prepared to wait so long
  12. A5 3.0L TDi for £400 per month on lease - where from. I am trying to get my sister into one of these and even with my special deals (ie base rate) from Audi Finance I can't get her one below £520 + VAT per month, admittedly on 20,000 miles per year and thats over 3 years, 2 years is even higher.
  13. 14. Jim - there was actually an Exclusiv Edition Corrado - I have the braochure and very smart it was too
  15. Stan - a lot of the EU markets got the Leon with the V6 engine and 4wd In fact Seat Switzerland did offer a small run of Seat sanctioned supercharged Leon Cupra4 V6
  16. I bought my suspension for the Passat from Philip - as has already been said - great service
  17. Probably a GTi Edition 30 - perfect combo of power, size, equipment, looks, practicality, build quality, handling and image
  18. Done my favourite trip on nmerous occassions now: Calais - Belgium - Sap Franochamps - Nurburgring - Mulhouse (Schlumpf Collection / home of Bugatti) - Switzerland - into Italy via Gotthard Pass - cruising around Lake Garda and lots of tunnels - Modena (say no more) - Maranello - Florence over the hills (awesome roads) - Pisa - Turin - into France over the mountains to Lyon - Rouen - Calais Done that entire trip once but have done different parts of it 7 or 8 times now and never get bored with it
  19. I'm nofan of Neal at all but whilst he did wave the Poxalls through I did not see any evidence of him actually holding Plato up - I suppose Neal saw the opportunity to make life more difficult for Plato and took it
  20. This site is superb for allowing freedom of speech and "naming and shaming". I have had issues with the site that Struan had his post deleted from that left me feeling severely hacked off. I had an issue with a seller (not, I hasten to add blue-joe) on that particular forum that saw me paying for some brakes that he then proceeded to sell to someone else for more money. I posted on the site that I had bought the good and my post was locked and subsequently deleted, all attempts at getting some justification from the Mods was totally ignored.
  21. My Recaros are trimmed in leather and Alcantara - re-trim was done by MJ Interiors
  22. A well set-up Corrado should outhandle a similarly set-up Golf, almost certainly has a lower centre of gravity, wider track etc. When I first picked up my G60 I was not convinced that it handled well at all. Had FK Konigsports fitted and a total re-bush on steering / suspension carried out and it totally transformed the car. Only downside of the Corrado is the weight of the thing but that can be sorted with selective lightening. I recently fitted Pro Race 2 alloys which has probably saved me 2-3kgs per corner, the effect it has had on steering feel and suspension control is pretty noticeable. If I were you, I'd start going through the car and replace bushes etc, I'd be surprised if you didn't end up with a far more rewarding car to drive.
  23. The whole used car market is at rock bottom at the moment. I sold a similar condition G60 but higher mileage (170,000) in Aqua Blue last November for £1800, mind you I did sell it incredibly quickly so I was probably guilty of under-pricing it. People (wrongly IMHO) get frightened by a 100k+ mileage and it could be argued that white isn't necessarily a colour that will appeal to most people.
  24. Last year, over about 40,000 miles in a mildly tweaked G60 I averaged just over 35mpg. That was not from MFA but actually properly calculating the MPG after every re-fuel. My other G60 (more heavily breathed on) rarely dips below 30mpg.
  25. Now if you really loved her you wouldn't think twice about re-spraying yours white  , think of the thank you's you'd get for that
