  1. Always liked the thinking behind this and the end result is awesome, love the subtlety o the exterior and the madness of the interior
  2. Still got a few jobs to do but its starting to come together, fitted the RM's today, definitely needs lowering a touch now though
  3. Thanks for the comments, the wheels are LNS - never heard of them before, they have quite a deep dish on them that doesn't really show up on the pics. I decided it was time to stop playing safe andget a marmite wheel
  4. Lets hope this gives him the inner confidence to go on to more wins. Damned good race but its a pity it has to rain to make a race interesting

I admire anyone who's got the patience to do something different - hope you're going to post a "How To" guide
  6. Only put the wheels on today - fancied something abit different and stumbled across them on E-Bay, they do have a nice deep dish on them

Good work but have one question If you have used the original Corrado lense will the light guides in the glass not cause serious issuesunless you have lined everything up perfectly Certainly look good
  8. Been on the Forum for two years now so its probably a bit overdue for me to start a Gallery. Few pics showing how the Nugget has changed since I bought it. 9. Sorted it thankfully, tried the old collars from a set of spare wheels lying around in the garage and they were a perfect fit - just ot to make up my mind whether I like the wheels now
  10. Here you go mate: height - 150mm (180mm including breather pipe), width 75mm, inlet pip I got manufactured in exactly the same diameter as the rocker cover breather. Came with a sight guag, drain plug and an integral bracket for mounting. Thinking about seeing if there is enough interest for a Group Buy, reckon I could get them down to £40 including P+P if I could get 10 made
  11. Just put the first of my newly acquired and newly refurbed alloys on and noticed a potential problem I'd welcome advice on. The wheels had previously been on a Valver for two years with no problems but although the collar that sits on the central spigot is the right diameter its about 22mm shallower than it really needs to be, this leave me with two queries: 1. Are they OK as they are 2. If not does anybody know if I can buy the same diameter but 22mm deeper collars Hopefully the pic should help to explain what I'm on about I'm torn here, common sense is telling me that there is a problem but they've just come off a Corrado where the fitment was identical
  12. One of mine has done 40k miles in the last twelve months with nothing but routine maintenance needed. You'd be mad spending your full budget because if something does go wrong it could be expensive
  13. Simple advice really. If you have abudget of 12k but will barely be able to afford any repairs once its spent you're taking the wrong tack. Find yourself a really nice car, spend some money getting it to how you want it and stick 2-3k to one side for running repairs
  14. I will take some pics tomorrow and PM them, bloke I bought off runs a fabrication company and was incredibly helpful
  15. I bought a really nicely fabricated oil catch tank - to my design that bolted really neatly to the bracket that holds the expansion tank - cost me just under £40 and means that I'm totally environmentally friendly
  16. Can understand why no one would be too happy if you just happen to be the unlucky person who gets the dud though
  17. This has been done to death. Best advice is to use the SEARCH function from the homepage - lots of debate about whats best.
  18. PM replied to - hopefully based on fact but not necessarily giving you the answers you were hping for
  19. I remember when BMW had major engine issues with the 4 cylinder units - thousands of cars were off the road for weeks / months due to thermostat problems - they treated their customers like dirt - well, my colleagues ended up in Corsa's for ages - then there was the problem with the 6 cylinder lumps having iffy liners that meant they needed complete new engines - I'd suggest to your dad to view BMW with the same level of doubt / concerm / scepticism as all other manufacturers
  20. I work closely with Volkswagen so could perhaps help point you in the right direction but need to know a bit more: 1. When did your dad buy it? 2. Has it got full VWSH 3. Did it have a full VW warranty and is in still "live" 4. Is it still being paid for - if bought on finance and theres a dispute like this, the finance house are legally obliged to act on your behalf due to the law of 1/2's and 1/3's 5. Which VW retailer was it bought from and which retailer has dropped this bombshell It may be a case of looking for a gesture of goodwill from VW - unfortunately they are not particularly good on this point
  21. Just got quotes on all four of the cars with their new Multicar group policy and with all mods declared the prices made a pleasant surprise: Nugget G60 £340, Aqua G60 with business use £340, Bora V5 £290 and Golf GTI Cab $260, would save me about £500 a year
  22. This is what the VW scene is all about, only been in it for a couple of years but made some really good friends from it - much nicer than any other manufacturer scene I've been involved with
