If you don't mind a slightly longer trip than to Midland VW, I'd recommend Madeley Testing Station near Ironbridge, they are regularly working on new / nearly new Evos / Impreza's etc, I have received superb service from them and the labour rate is a lot less than Midland VW. I have used Midland VW - good work but not exactly chatty / helpful
  2. Boxster S calipers and Seat 305mm discs. The set-up is coming off a Vento so everything will be a straight swap over
  3. Not to my taste at all but the quality of the workmanship looks pretty decent
  4. Been looking for a reasonably priced set-up for a while, managed to get these today, complete set-up that will bolt straight on

Welcome on board - whats the project then - we want to know the details
  6. When I had mine replaced they fitted a top tint at no extra cost
  7. This is probably something right up JMR's street - Littlehampton - about an hour away from Bournemouth. John can be contacted on 07974020031.
  8. Imagine the attention it would get at shows though - admittedly not for the right reasons
  9. Just dug out the brochure. Made by Manfrod Automobil und Technik in Hamburg. Planned run was for 100 and conversion cost was 22,000DM - by my reckoning that was about £7-8k
  10. I've got a brochure for these - plan was to produce 100 but they probably made a lot less
  11. Would a Willwood 280 brake kit for a MK2 16V be a straight fit on to a G60 running standard brakes
  12. My other half loves it, shes already insisting that if it is going to be available in Viper Green then thats the colour she wants - might clash with the Nugget
  13. TT apart I have never seen a concept car interior make production, the IROC looks good, like the simplicity but its obvious the instruments would be simplified, the more I look at the various angles of the car the more I like it. Clearly the wheels will be smaller in the production version as well
  14. I could have had a Golf GT TDi or new Passat (company paid for but still a sale as far as Volkswagen are concerned) but I CHOSE to drive a Corrado. Working in the industry I get to speak to a lot of people, those who work in the industry and perhaps more importantly, potential customers - many of whom feel that Volkswagen is not a desirable product as it used to be. Volkswagen have a massive product range (and getting ever bigger) - the problem is that they are not selling in anythinglike the numbers they use to or need to - if thats because of the current model range then they perhaps need to look back at what got them such a good reputation in the marketplace. Whenever I spend time down in Milton Keynes I'm considered odd because I have an passion in the vehicles, too many manufacturers are run by people who see the vehicle as a product - no more no less. Why aren't Volkswagen people regularly at shows, talking to enthusiasts, soaking up the passion that many people have about the brand. I know Tempest was invited to Germany t talk about the Scirocco but dos anyone really think that they are going to listen - I've been involved in "clincs" for new vehicles and its little more than a tick box exercise. Its sad to see the way that manufacturers are going - they are increasingly obsessed with brand image - for example Volkswagen dictate the network the bin thay have to have next to the coffee machine, they dictate what coffee is available from the coffee machine. As someone who could, at a stretch afford anew Volkswagen I couldn't give a monkeys about these things - I want enthusiastic, knowledgeable staff and most importantly of all - great product - something I'm not seeing in much quantity with the current Volkswagen line-up
  15. Very disappointing, another Volkswagen cop out, the interior will certainly be ditched - concept car interiors never make it into production. Looks like a lower, squashed Golf, if the taller Golf is labelled Golf Plus this should surely be labelled Golf Minus - thank god they haven't dared call it Corrado Looks like I'll be getting my deposit back
  16. I have seen V-Power for at least the last two years in nEurope, I believe every station that sold Optimax will now be selling V Power
  17. Don't like yellow lights personally but each to their own, one persons view of good taste is not necessarily anothers - doesn't mean either of them are right or wrong
  18. Dealer wouldn't take it as p/x, owner wanted to get rid quickly it was bought privately by the sales manager and paid what the owner said he wanted for it - could be argued that the owner didn't know the cars true value but faced with the same opportunity - would anyone of us put him right - I don't think I would
  19. Was with a client yesterday, spent time with the Sales Manager and discovered his desktop background picture was a Storm. Got chatting, only to find out he'd bought it off an old guy who was looking to trade in against a new R32. One owner, full VWFSH, needed a bit of paint and leather care - he paid £600 for it Why do I never get lucky like that
  20. Pretty much the most reliable TVR ever produced - bulletproof Rover V8, the strongest being the 4 and 4.5 litre versions. I would not have said it was overpriced - with only 11k miles I would expect it to be virtually as new
  21. While before they come down to £8k, and by then they'll have been through a few owners and many will be ropey - not cheap but you get what you pay for - that and the new Golf GTi are the only desirable cars that they've made since the Corrado
  22. Looks like you've got a nice one there - welcome to the world of ever present grins and empty wallets
  23. Took the other halfs Bora in today for a service: Oil and filter change Air filter change All wheels off, brakes cleaned and checked Full Vag-Com check Emissions check General checkover Valeted Admittedly I did supply oil and oil filter but I still reckon £75 is a cracking price - very reliable and totally trustworthy
  24. My gut feeling is that it will have a distinct EOS look to it, certainly hope its shorter and has a more sporting dashboard - time will tell whether my deposit translates into a confirmed order
  25. I'm guilty of just seeing my daily driver as a 15 year old Volkswagen and I'm genuinely surprised at the amount of attention it attracts, I actually find it embarassing because its in nothing like the condition bodily that I'd like it to be
