What does your VW dealer think of corrados?
Andy665 replied to surfer.vr6's topic in General Car Chat
I work for Volkswagen and last year visited more than 100 sites - great response to the cars everywhere I went, usually got back to the car to find Technicians loitering around it. Best response is from VW at Milton Keynes, senior management love the fact that someone chooses to drive a classic VW instead of one of the current range -
They were only badged Renaults in the UK, Alpine couldn't be used because Peugeot own the name. Bespoke platform and used the Douvrin V6 in either naturally aspirated or turbocharged form. Best looking was the wide arched BBS shod Le Mans but it was strangled by a catalyst so only produced 185bhp. They were actually pretty reliable and very highly rated as drivers cars

Plate was a bargain £260 including the £85 assignment fee
-
Tbh not had a problem with how they fit, yes they sit back from the grille but never thought it looks particularly odd, the improved light output is the main reason I bought them and they are a definite improvement
-
Been lying around for a good six months so thought I'd fit it today, complete with all new indicators and fogs. Good time to put the new plates on too following the reg. change earlier in the week

....more than I wanted to pay but seems like its pretty rare
-
Take it to a specialist - better quality of work, damn sight cheaper and to those who care, a stamp from a specialist who cares is more desirable than a VW dealer
-
They sold out before they were even announced, a lot rare than the SLR, faster, better handling, better looking, more practical and 1/3 of the cost

Fortunately, it was only as painful as a trip to the local DVLA office to transfer to the new plate G60 AWK
