  1. ...was going to do the pads on my wifes Audi today, just out of interest got a quote from the AA Service Centre up the road - £56 all-in - really can't be bothered getting dirty to save a few quid
  2. Certainly got my dad excited, he's owned Jags for years and fancies something as a fun toy, I was hoping to bag his garage to keep Rado No. 157 if I'm lucky enough to get hold of it
  3. My licence is about 4 addresses out of date - when you are constantly hiring cars you can't afford to be without it for a couple of weeks though
  4. Dropped my Nugget off at my dads yesterday to look after whilst we sort the house move out and he let slip some interesting info that seems to have some substance as it came from two very different sources - His next door neighbours son is a Jaguar development and test driver - a couple of weeks ago he turned up in a heavily disguised mule, front engined and low but definitely too small for it to be an XK8 and according to my dad definitely did not sound like a V8 Following week a friend of his mentioned that he was installing a new line at Jaguars Halewood plant for their new sports car Seems like Jaguar may surprise us all with a Boxster rival - just wondering, if its true, how word has not leaked out
  5. I have two close relatives, both in the trafic diviosions of a major force in the UK. They both say that the policies are crazy, the guys on the ground want to raise standards of safety by targetting middle lane hoggers etc but have been specifically told to concentrate on speeders
  6. It amazes me that the police must be knowingly prosecuting alleged speeders when they are legally not in a position to do so, smacks of one law for us and another for them. I'm trying to get my hands on a copy of the Calibration Cert so I can post it on here so we all know what they look like.
  7. ....if you're caught speeding by a hand held speed gun make sure you ask for that days Certificate of Calibration - if they cannot produce it, legally they cannot prosecute you Apparently Merseyside police only calibrate a max. of 20% of their guns per day
  8. ....bright orange, German registered but on UK trade plates, travelling through Bramley, obviously on its way for Top Gear filming this Wednesday just gone - nothing like as muscular as the Focus RS but quite smart
  9. Was in a dealer last week and watched someone walk in and order a metallic black A8 W12 and a Q7, he asked for a 40k deposit to be taken off his Amex - sickening
  10. I like the look of that - may well invest in one of those when house move is out of the way - whats delivery like?
  11. Picked the Nugget up tonight - Toothed Belt Drive sounds absolutely awesome and definitely makes the car more responsive. John has removed the original sprung tensioner (it had been butchered by good old Jabba anyway) and replaced it with a simple tensioner bar. Works superbly and work will start soon on a prettier and permanent tensioner
  12. Thanks for the comments peeps Chubbybrown - I'm not convinced how the front bumper will look but seeing as though someone reversed in to me last week and took some paint off the original I thought I'd spend the money getting the RS2 sprayed JT-G60 - I've wanted this mod for ages and persauded John to sell me his last one, the tweak he has introduced, he reckons, has made it the best one he has done so far. Luckily I already have a big FMIC and the toothed drive was the last "affordable" upgrade to be done before the bigger projects start going
  13. John has kindly phoned me and let me hear my motor now that it has its toothed belt drive fitted - noise is awesome. John has introduced a little tweak to the system for me - not told me what it is but I'm sure all will be revealed tomorrow
  14. VIN that states its the 157th Rado ever built
  15. Love one of these - how much does a decent one sell for nowadays???
  16. I sold a Westfield last year, running a Lotus Twin Cam and twin 45's - really regret selling it and after the house move may be tempted in to another one.
  17. Momo wheel Hella RainTronic Oil cooler DDI guages Coilovers Nugget Yellow paint
  18. Looked longingly at a pre-litigation Westfield Seven this afternoon, going to have a Valver running on ITB's and should push out over 200BHP - nice to see a Westfield running a VW engine
  19. ....having its fuel lines replaced and its toothed belt drive fitted - so looking forward to getting it back on Tuesday - resprayed RS2 bumper will be ready this week as well, just a pity the car will be sitting on my dads drive in Cheshire for a month and a bit from next weekend
  20. Red G333 *** Valver in Piries Place car park (Horsham) this afternoon
  21. Close but no cigar, they are Riva's. VW are bringing back Jetta so any new coupe should be called either Sirocco or Corrado
  22. I would seriously consider one but the pricing needs to be competitive - if it is too much above the comparable Golf it then starts bordering on 1 year old Boxster prices and I know which one I'd rather have
  23. In the current "affordable" coupe market the Hyundai is actually petty good - 2.0 is gutless but the V6 is a damn good car for the money - still would not buy one though
  24. Johns wife also does a mean line in bacon butties - only on Sundays though which is a shame
  25. Kev, you're absolutely right, even the best will make the occassional mistake - its how they are dealt with that matters. I met John at JMR as a result of buying a Rado - much like Woody, the relationship started as a business relationship but over time you build mutual trust and respect in each other. I now regard John as a good friend, however I still pay full rate for his time (I would not want it any other way) - I'm sure where the friendship part comes into play is when I'm in desperate need of assistance at very short notice etc. I would not say that John (JMR) is any different from any other supplier who value their business and reputation. I have seen threads relating to other suppliers who have also gone way beyond the call of duty to help people out but quite understandably, when a business is being run no one can afford to treat everyone in the same manner. I would not regard it as favouratism, more like sound business sense and an appreciation of loyalty
