Well it looks like my Rado is all but sold so I'm on my lookout for the replacement. So far I'm looking at an Audi A4 Avant 1.8t sport and a 2.6 V6. I really like both and cant decide, what do you lot think? Anyone had any experiences of either cars? Cheers Chris

There is no slack or play in the rear wheel bearings and everything is fine when the car is off thr ground, my money is on the pads not retracting properly. looks like a set of mk4's is in need!

Sometime but only very quietly so perhaps the calipers are on their way out! What do MK4 calipers usually go for?

I would but its really embarassing when your reversing into a parking space in a busy car park and she starts to squeal like a piggy!! Yip! They should be ok but its worth a try!

:lol: - Don't rub my nose in it, ive spent a silly ammount on getting to the bottom of this bloody problem :angry: - if you want some cheap exhaust parts let me know! :lol: (Glad you got it sorted easily tho , this vibration was ten times as bad as on yours tho :) ) Bah sorry mate!! I think Im all sorted exhaust wise for the moment, fitting a new back box this afternoon, will give you a shout if I need anything!! Well at least yours is all sorted now!

Think I have cured it on your old one Dave, the heat sheild behind the exhaust manifold was not fixed on at the bottom and was sitting against the exhaust manifold and rattling like a good'un. Fixed it back on and good as new! I love quick cheap fixes!!

Will give that a bash this afternoon as she will be up in the air so I can fit me new Zorst! Whats the deal with mk4 rear calipers? I see that quite a few people have fitted them, any advantages?

This little gremlin is really getting on my wick now, basically the rear brakes scream like a pig if you use them whilst reversing. The rear discs are in good condition as are the brake pads (genuine VW items). I have removed the pads and lagged the back of them in copper slip, removed the 'sliding caliper' pins and gave them a good covering in copperslip aswell and tightened all of the caliper carrier bolts and its still screeching!! :mad: Any ideas?

There are fecking hundereds around here and they are all mahoosive! I love paying my road tax when the local council makes speed humps so big that they wreck my car!!
