I got pulled by an unmarked Mondeo ST 220 (looked to me like he was issueing a challenge the way he came up behind) doing 110 on the A12 just outide ipswich a month ago. The road was clear, it was a clear dry day and suprisingly, I slowed down to the 40 limit when it went to a single carriegeway, I was nice and polite to him but he said because of the speed he'd have to prosicute. I asked what he thought I may get and he said if I was very lucky it may be 6 points and a fine, or I may get either a 7 or 28 day ban. I have now spoken to a JP about this who said I'm more likely to get the ban and depending on the mood of the judge it could be up to 3 months.... Just waiting for a court date now I think. Does anyone know if they still send a NIP when they pull you over ?

Fitted a front spoiler, just need to straighten bumper now

this is a common mistake its 1001 ps, so not so many bhp But like all VW's it was dynoed at 40 degrees C so on a cool day it will be higher. I'll be waiting for Clarkson to say something about the Tyre pressure monitoring system on it, this will be my moment of Glory as I build them....

These may all be American, but lets face it, most of this gear was origenally developed on the race track where BRITAIN rules the world, even most of the european and american teams have British designers etc, where would Ferrari be if it was for the Brits like Ross Brawn.

Get the thickest cable you can, 2 or 0 gauge, that will illiminate alot of voltage drop. Same principle as running a cable for a large amp install. A good Car hifi shop will supply decent cable.

Looks good and I guess it handles like its on rails.....

Fixed the heater fan today, but while I was under the dash I thought I'd try to find the leak in the pas footwell. Found that the floor, although wet is still solid but the bulkhead at around the top of the carpet has a small rust hole. Further inspection under the bonnet showed that after clearing away all the leaves and mud etc blocking the drainage hole, alot of the seam sealer was cracked(I guess letting in the water), there is also a large hole next to the battery tray and the chassis rail has rust showing on it. Having read the buyers guide this would suggest accident damage but it all looks straight and it is now 16 yrs old and hasn't been looked after to well. Aswell as that the sill has a hole in at the front of the sill cover. Otherwise the body is quite good, few chips on front that havent been treated but the arches are all fine and underneath looks solid. I didn't intend on keeping it but I'm now driving it vertually daily and lovin it, and without the interior that I'd keep it aint worth alot so do I cut my loses, scrap it and wait for another to turn up cheapish (I dont have a large wad sitting around) or is this what I would expect to find on alot of C's now, so grin and bare it and get the welder out ??? What are your thoughts

Unfortunate for the fox, but at least there aint much damage. Always thought a fox would make a big mess of a car.... We get loads of pheasents, foxes and dears running/flying into the roads round here, I've bin lucky, only hit 1 pheasent but had near misses with 2 dears.

Ditto! :( I used to think the same.................... ..................then I got another one cheap and now have all the problems mention in this thread.

I'll give that a go, you never no, they may fall for it  Been busy on it today, I've now finished changing the fuel pump, lowered it and changed the wheels for some 16" Momo Arrows I had in the garage so it now has legal tyres (old tyres were scrubbed out completely on the inside edge) must get tracking done tomorrow, and finally did a tempery bodge on the throttle cable which was sticking, will get a new cable this week and do it properly. Looks sooooooo much better now, only problem being that while I work on the C, I aint getting the Mk1 done :(

Cheers GIXXERUK, I'm in Beccles, Suffolk. I hadn't thought of GPC, and its only £30 + vat, p+p. Anyone know why its cheaper for the deep splitter or is there a mistake on the web site ?
-
thanks for the comments guys. Errr the front bumper, as I said it needs alot of TLC and its on the list to be put on straight as soon as I find a splitter for it.

Hello, I thought i'd introduce myself, my names Graham I have a small collection of V-Dubs and have just bought myself a Corrado 16v, it's in need of alot of TLC and the paint is terrable, a kinda cross between the original Nugget yellow and a very poor blue sprayed, possably with a can over the top of most of it... I've now sorted the tickover out which was very lumpy and missing on 1 cylinder and today have been changing the fuel pump. I only paid £600 for it and bought it for the interior (leccy recaro's) but I've driven it nearly everyday since, forgot how much fun they are, not as quick as my Bora but more of a drivers car.. I may now keep it as my next project, if I ever finish my Mk1 So heres a pic I used to own a G60 and would like to know if anyone know if its still about Reg J389 CUC, I sold it to a guy on Canvey Island in 2002, and last time I saw it, it was looking a bit sorry for itself. Heres a pic of my old G60 Hope you like
