  1. Brentacre is a one ive heard good things about and will be trying...
  2. I just fitted a Vt mount to mine aswell and they are excellent, like you say Rob it just tightens everything up nicely... My oil leak on the way back from Stonor was from the pressure switch which can be accessed via the drivers side headlight space but not with aircon pipes in the way, it was a full front end of job, fun and games....

  5. Another vote for the Leon here although i do like the Golf, the Cupra is just the much better looking car with the same VW feel about it.. I had no probs with my old Leon and would definitely have another, particularly a Cupra R...
  6. Glad you there in the end Jon, not only do they look ace but they work really well!!!
  7. Im fairly sure this will be ok, the front is the area where you cant swap due to the weight difference and hence the different spring and damper rating...
  8. He phoned me, all sorted, they are on their way and should be here in a fortnight... Whn they tip up ill have a run down...
  9. With the car running put the end of a screwdriver on the belt tensioner and put your ear to the handle, if the bearing is shot youll be able to hear it chattering or screaching....
  10. Sounds likely, put a screwdriver on it and have a listen...
  11. Quick one from me... Thanks to Double-6s and Andy Brookes and Toad.... Cheers peeps...
  12. It just never goes away!!! Get a one bought...
  13. Mocal is on hold, being the fanny that i am im not happy with the heat exchanger and the hoses so im gonna get a smaller one with braided hoses and stainless connections and then pop it on...
  14. I can drop the Pump in tonight for you Tom, itll be a flying visit though...
  15. no worries Lee (red vino's kicked in & i'm headed for the sack), apoligies too Goldie for cluttering up your rather exceptional car's thread!!! No probs guys...

  18. Hello, been waiting on hearing from you guys. Managed to get a VT mount and a Mocal to pop on this week, replaced the tensioner and now the fan motor is on its way out, Corrados eh, youve gotta love em... Ill be down shortly for the Bahn Brenner leads....
  19. As per usual Corrado fashion i replace my aux water pump as it has become a bit noisy for a while and now the fan motor is chattering like fury and is hotter than the sun, great!!! Its only been on the car about 6 months as was purchased second hand so im thinking sod it and get a new one so... Where from (German Swedish??) and how much is it gonna set me back???
  20. I will be devastated if i get to see my car like that...
  21. What size are those bad boys?? Good choice Bill, quite a fan of Borbet Cs...
  22. Bloody joke... Before long youll not be allowed to do anything....
  23. Mine was an 86 MK2 1.1 Fiesta dressed up as an XR2 type thing, it ahd 80k on it when i got it and it was a bloody strong car, i had a Mk3 afterwards and it was gash!!!!
  24. I reckon there are pros to both cars.. Jays 24v job is lovely, brilliantly made with all the gear and your G60 is stunning, i doubt there are many if any like that left today.. I guess im saying you can build a 24v Corrado to your own spec, the G60 though really is a one off now...

    New Toy

Good work Tony, whered you end up taking the supplies from?? Was it a squeeze to get in?? I took the supplies for the controller from the ECU in the end, pins 22 and 23 after reading a post from cheesewire on fitting a schrick. The vacuum was easy as I already have a tank for the climatronic so I just robbed the connection to that, need to get a T piece for it later as the a/c only blows on the screen at the minute! It was a major squeeze to get in though. As you suggested the front panel had to come out to get at some of the bolts, I managed to get the rad/condensor assembly a bit further forwards on the driver's side (maybe 10mm) but then had to mod one of the condensor brackets to get the headlight back in. I also packed the driver's side fan away from the fan bracket by 5mm to stop it rubbing on the schrick, it's about 2mm clear of the rad now though! Last job of course I had to grind a lump out of the bonnet rib for clearance. I havent done my bonnet yet, the manifold has made its own little space in the bonnet rib and once i have the VT mount on im gonna repaint the bit it has being touching and then sorted... Have you already got a VT mount on yours?
