  1. I just filled up the 4mo, a massive big up for shell fuel, the golf has gone from 32-33 on a long run to 38-41....
  2. Obvious what my answer is going to be and just as another take on it the V6 Boras are rare, i believe we are talking around 200 in the country...
  3. That engine bay looks fabulous, absolute hats off to you...
  4. Do you need back doors is a factor.. I guess it boils down to do you want a V6 or turbo, the car itself isnt much different...
  5. No idea about G60s but not hanging aroun long motorway run up to 38 (37 more often), pootling around 33ish and if you rag it late 20s... I am indeed Martin, only a short visit until December on a course....
  6. Lovely sunny day down here on the south coast so gave the Golf the full treatment - here are a few pictures.... Opinions welcome...
  7. I could be wrong but the plate on the one above looks very similar to the lady owned one i saw in Ipswich..
  8. Well the Milltek is fitted and, well it sounds rather good...nice one Karl....

    JMC's G60

You were parked near the Tesco, i was visiting my sister who lives close by.. I had a look round your car, looks very nicely sorted, that bumper looks great..
  10. Grey probably is the rarest, it works in most colour cars... Recaros obviously are the ones if you can find them..

    JMC's G60

I could be wrong but i saw a G60 in Egham on Friday night that looked awfully simliar to this...
  12. Oh ffs Karl, go on then details, power, what included, mapping, age?????
  13. Expensive yes but if you need one then you dont have a choice.... (its not mine by the way)
  14. Ive seen this car but it was before you owned it and just wanted to say it looks sexual on those wheels...nicely done...
  15. I dont think the Bora will be any slower, the Golf isnt slow at all, its doesnt feel like it has the grunt of a VR Corrado but real road its just as quick due to the amount of grip. As stated its very solid so you dont get the grunt feeling but its a low down power, it shifts mate, you wont be disappointed although its far too quiet, easily sorted... The dash kit was nearly new and set me back the wrong side of 200 quid. I think you can get the whole lot new for about 300. Plenty on Ebay and UKMkIVs.. Im away this weekend so get it back Monday with it fitted. I have heard good reports that the Vortech does a great job on this engine.......
  16. Although i have toyed with the idea of a Corrado again for the moment its a no goer.. Two reasons really, i dont ever want to run one as a daily, using my old one too much not long before i sold it really spoilt the appeal. The second reason is there really doesnt seem to be many decent ones about, so the list of initial work would be large so for the time being its Golf only for me.... Not for ever though im sure.... So the golf, it has been such a good buy, nearly had it for a year now and its been (touch wood) plain sailing.. I have changed a few things that just have to be done and i have my eyes open for bargain parts all the time. Mk4 parts are very easy to find and i must admitt i have been praised on the cars condition because its 'new'. Thats new being almost 10 years and 100 thousand miles... Changes so far: Full R32 brushed aluminium dash kit and gear knob (the wood belongs in a rover) R32 steering wheel GTI Cloth Recaros Passat W8 interior light Bora sport clocks TT pedals 6 cd dash changer Carbonio induction kit Early spec engine cover US Spec rear light US spec VR6 badge Aero wipers front and rear Smaller VW badge from a Sharan My short arial from the Corrado Arriving very soon cat back miltek system (that would be Karl spending my money again) and an anniversary front splitter... One definite nice thing about the car is mint cloth Recaros = 270 quid = result... Im hoping to get the car fully cleaned up and when its done ill post some pictures. Im not trying to preach to the converted, there wont be anyone on here who loves Corrados more than me (apart from you Kip) but its the old classic scenario, the Mk4 forum is good for buying but if its OE mods you are a crowd follower and well, its not my scene. It has been said so many times, this is a good forum.. Just to note i havent seen my old Corrado for a while but when i did it had an anodised tax disc holder and was an absolute mess. I know the lad has bought a daily so i hope that he is going to keep it nice....
  17. Think it might have been JMC (not sure of the exact user name) but dark G60, 3 slat grill fitted into the bumper, looked very nicely sorted although it was dark.. Spotted in Egham, near Tesco, friday night...
  18. I keep coming back to this thread and for the only reason that i think i want a Campaign, i love the interior although i know it isnt attractive, if that makes sense.. I cant deny if i ever got my hand on one there would be mods, all reversable though...
  19. Mate, gutted to read this.... You sure its a write off? Little comfort but so long as you are ok, cars can be replaced (although i know itll be hard to find another)..
  20. The interior was in Majiks car although i dont know if he sold it, im fairly sure it didnt include a dash.. Ive seen the one owned by a lday who lives near Ipswich but that was in 07, it was wearing a private reg. Did your car belong to Campaign off here? If not i think that was the one that went to Ireland..
  21. Thats an absolute beast Karl...landed on your feet there..
  22. That garage is unbelievable, what an amazing collection of Rs fords.. Just imagine if he like Vws as well...
  23. Ive been looking into a new exhaust for mine and Milltek seems to be the way to go. Id imagine the Non res version will give the car the noise it is missing. I love the car and the drive but there just isnt enough of a soundtrack..
  24. It most certainly is a Mk2 item... Nice VR btw, im very fond of the colour...
  25. When you put it like that mate a Valver would be a huge breath of fresh air on the Concourse Scene. Looks like you have the basis for it right there. Im not going to lie, nugget is not my thing at all but thats not the point, you have a low mileage example and we know you have the know how so do it... What of KIP VW then, no way you are selling it, no way its going to become a daily, looks like without knowing it you are foring a Corrado museum at your house..
