    Tailgate rattle

This is my personal favourite ever 'rado fix. Took thirty seconds and quietened down my ride no end.
  2. Have just belatedly caught up with this thread. Absolutely superb job; I know I'm repeating others but it really looks totally OEM. I absolutely love it!
  3. I was surprised that someone's taken the bin out on a Bank Holiday.
  4. The chap sounds like quite the charmer. It really just goes to show how deceiving pictures can be: the car looks all right in them!
  5. Met the VR's twin today, an M reg Classic Green VR going towards the Severn on the A4440 at about six. I'd slowed to let a lady cyclist cross just short of the St. Peter's roundabout and then clocked you at the last minute looking over towards mine. Enough to exchange a quick thumbs up. Haven't seen you around before so guessing that you're not local to these parts?
  6. Haven't laughed that much in ages. Brilliant!
  7. Hey, at least I didn't go sucking up to teacher for some extra clues... :nono:
  8. Yeah, a lovely morning out, so thanks everyone involved, especially Dave, Karen and Merrin for organising and Andy and Dave for their navigation, which was second to none. Can't believe we lost out on points for not photographing jumps that I've watched the missus go over (on a horse, I hasten to point out)!
  9. Got a Rightclick system on mine. Looks totally OEM and does locking/unlocking and boot release. Kit's about thirty quid, really good value for money. Ed.
  10. Looking forward to that too! Mine was actually rather dirty by my standards; had a clean and a wax after that...must say that your nugget's paint looked superb.
  11. I hope very much for you that it's not the head gasket and I don't want to be the voice of doom but the car can run as sweetly as can be and still have a gasket that's let go. My late VR did exactly that: the only symptom was that it was losing a small amount of water regularly. However, I was topping it up for ages; best part of a year in fact. During that time it had a new expansion tank at DG, since they thought that to be the most likely cause. They drove it while its head gasket was knackered and didn't notice it down on performance and it ran fine for me. Looking back there was a little more vapour from the exhaust on start-up than usual but it always seemed to clear when warm. It was only when the VR went to DG for cam fitting that they then did the usual tests and discovered that the gasket was gone. I think that it surprised them as much as me. To try to offer some positivity to balance out, I had no signs of mayo in the water and the failure in the gasket was obviously very minor; if you're running fine but have the mayo, it might well be that it's something else. But in the event that it is the dreaded head gasket, look for positives in having it rebuilt: a skimmed and rebuilt head will give a much smoother and happier pull from the engine. You might not notice a slow, very slight loss of power due to gasket failing but you would get a noticeable and pleasing improvement from a rebuilt head with better compression. Hope this helps, Ed.
  12. You wait ages for a Corrado spot and then two come along in one day... Dark K reg G60 in the members' car park at Worcestershire County Cricket club, about two ish? Not seen it around before. Then it must surely have been duckdown_hoodrat's slammed nugget on the Arboretum roundabout, coming from under the railway bridge? You saw me late but gave me a cheery thumbs up! Car was looking mean.
  13. That's a coilpack indeed. 93s were a switchover year so could have had either dizzy or coilpack.
  14. Big thanks to Reggit and JayGT for two very impressively efficient sales recently. Both despatched goods very swiftly and very well packaged. Delighted and would thoroughly recommend each of these gents.
  15. Welcome to the Forum! You'll find that this place is an absolute gold mine of help and information from very wise Dubbers. Get some pics and details of your G60 up for all to see and I'm sure you'll get some good feedback. I would imagine the most obvious question to ask would be what the evidence of charger history is like, given that they do need rebuilding at appropriate points. But failing that I hope to see you around these Shires at some point, possibly at a meet. There are one or two owners around your end of things, DaveStorm springing to mind. Ed.
  16. Calling John Prescott a "star" in a reasonably priced car is a crime against language. What an utter twunt that man is.
  17. Ah, go easy on him. I'm sure that his hairdressing business will have taken a real kicking during this recession.
  18. Yeah, I saw this the other day. Nice to see the Forum get a couple of mentions and Dave's handle repair kit get praise.
  19. I did have a major case of deja vu when this thread title popped up under new posts. I was thinking "I'm sure that I posted exactly this a few years back...hang on...".
  20. Hi, Just had mine fitted in the last couple of days by Graham at DG. He's done a top job on it and it's all wired up, including the boot release. You might want to give him a shout if it's proving tricky; I had him do mine since I didn't want some cowboy alarm fitter doing it and wrecking things while they were in there. Hth, Ed.
  21. Chufties are very much like buses: two yesterday. Firstly the tyre place I always go to. The boss was on his way out in the van as I arrived but one of the young fellers who works there came over with an appreciative gleam in his eye. I left the car with him to have two new fronts. When I came back, the boss was coming out of the office. He smiled and said "I thought it'd be you!". I laughed and said that there can't be many Corrados that they shoe. He commented on how quiet the engine is, "sweet as a nut" being his exact words and then stated how the young feller has to be pretty much prised out of the driver's seat whenever he runs it into the shop from the car park. The boss said "I'm always there with the jack under, ready to go, telling him to get out and he won't!". All this put a huge smile on my face, despite them also telling me that it seems my driver's side wheel bearing's shot; at least I know the origin of my sudden recent intermittent weird noise from that side... Then the key cutting place I went to for some blanks cutting noticed the Corrado key ring and passed admiring comment. Said he (after the inevitable "Is it a VR6?") "There's one round the corner from me in Kidderminster. Every time I drive past I think "I'd love one of those"... Made my Saturday!
  22. StueyB: an absolute gent and characterises the very best of sellers on this forum. Sold me some heater dials which arrived super swiftly and beautifully packaged. Embarrassingly for me, they arrived before the payment had cleared, due to a screw up on my bank/PayPal's part but StueyB was content to send out to me even so, trusting in my word that I would make good on the payment, which of course I did. Comes with a huge thumbs up and vote of thanks.
