  1. Yeah, the sensors are easy to get, and the rear sensors are more expensive but in general this is no big deal. The pump unit however is hard to come by and generally many hundreds of pounds. That said they are quite reliable so you can easily chance it on a used one with minimal risk. They can also be refurbished for a couple of hundred quid if you'd like to have a warranty.

    Abs again

If you've not taken the abs computer out and at least looked at the connector you're wasting your own time doing anything else. It's against the side of the car in the passenger footwell. It takes five mins to get the panel off and take a look.
  3. I would say no cylinders is the way forward, but traction motors.. now that is where the future lies. :)
  4. I like the pics of a Corrado in its natural state in the background..
  5. It also occurs to me that in this instance at least it's possible to pre-thread the screw into the fixing on the lamp housing before putting the housing into the car. I would go so far as to say it's designed this way...! So perhaps i answered my own question...!
  6. One other thought. How do you handle putting non-magnetic screws into the inaccessible lower headlight mounts?

    Abs again

From what I recall the abs computer connecting block in the passenger footwell is notorious for getting wet and rusty and providing a poor contact. Check here to see if you can improve things by cleaning the contacts there. This usually means the wing drains are blocked or you have leaks from the scuttle area.

    Bloody Corrados.

Just the whole "working upside down" thing makes these types of jobs a real bummer.

    Bloody Corrados.

So the boot light switch decided to fall into the rear hatch. Dammit.
  10. The lights are fading these days. After 20+ years the silvering goes hazy and in some cases it's just come off. They don't put out as much light as they used to. Mine has been flagged up on the mot for about five years in a row...
  11. Amongst the French manufacturers I've always preferred the Peugeots. They are actually very solid and reliable, much more so than vag in my experience. They just feel light, they are generally nimble and can take the abuse, don't worry about your choice. Personally i might have gone with a petrol but that's just me.
  12. I can understand not wanting to continue with Tapatalk. It is convenient but they "own" all your content and have no qualms about it. Pity though. Mind you, I've not been on here much of late and it's definitely slowed down anyway.
  13. Hi Dave. I am struggling to find the right parts tbh. I think they are 12 gauge screws? They don't seem to be available most places, specialists only I would guess. Im not fussed about the polishing but you'd be doing me a favour just sending me the bits so I don't have to spend any more time on it. Whats the cost these days? Polished or unpolished, whichever you have. A slightly more complex problem to tackle next .. getting the adjuster screw fixed .. might have to resort to a couple of nuts and large washers. And then there's the reflectors to tidy up, and the glass pretty desperately needs a polish too... Like all Corrado jobs it started out simple and now it's a bit of a nightmare. Cheers!
  14. Alternatively if someone has the part sizes to hand I'll grab some from a local hardware place or something.
  15. They really were a piece of crap these things were. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  16. :) A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  17. If you have an alarm fitted it's not unusual for the battery to go flat if it's not driven.. but this is exactly what kills batteries long term. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  18. 13.75 while on charge (engine running) is only a little low, unless the battery is soaking a lot of current itself to recharge. I'd expect to see 13.8-14.2 while charging with minimal electrical load. The other numbers are low though. Sounds a lot like your battery is buggered tbh. However, if those fans have been retrofitted and the alternator can't cope, that would kill batteries no problems. Any idea what current the fans pull? Must be huge if a 90amp alternator can't provide more than 12.8v while it's running. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  19. I was under the impression the emissions test should be based on the age of the engine, not the car, in cases where an engine swap was done. You got lucky there! Yeah, a blowing manifold would def cause emissions issues. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  20. The VIN number could always be found in the boot! A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  21. If the lambda reads good (should fluctuate from about 0.9 to 1.1 iirc) but the emissions don't maybe the exhaust is blowing? A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  22. If the emissions are out it'll be a sensor somewhere no doubt... or the catalyst is gone? A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
  23. Obvious thing is to check system voltages (and alternator output) while doing this stuff. A big voltage drop could cause issues with spark power I guess, but still, that's a bit weird. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
