If you want the revised tensioner you have to give them the right part number. They won't look it out for you. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Some ******* stole the badge off my Storm...

Sad but true. I took all the VR6 badges off mine the moment i got it. I probably can't remember where they go any more.. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT. -
Normally this is a result of wear in the synchro on 1st gear. You could have a go at adjusting the gear selector mechanism but I doubt that would fix it. That said, it only happened twice..... A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Did you ask the dealer? Don't think VW parts cost much more and I have heard that the gaskets in particular are better quality. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Nice job. They were much better quality leather than most modern cars get. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

That looks good... A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Certainly true that modern cars are way stiffer than Corrados. These old cars are as flexible as a gymnast.. part of the secret to the fluid handling in some ways, but not so good for stability. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Don't think that's unusual myself, but then mine could be clogged up too... It's within a couple of % of the numbers I sometimes see on long high speed runs, and these sensors are rarely more accurate than that. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

And I have endless respect for you to be doing the work. I'm just too lazy... :) A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

I keep thinking I should splash out on a respray, then I think I should get the engine and gearbox rebuilt, then I think I should strip all the trim out and repair, replace and fettle. Then I remembered i ain't ploughing £10k into a car that has to live on the street... ! Lol A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Well yeah it's likely. Lots of people have trouble with those things and wind up replacing them. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Throttle sensor is on the pedal, if that's what you mean. It should run smoothly from about minus 10 to plus 95 degrees as you push the pedal down. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Best way to diagnose this is to scan the ECU, vag-com/OBDeleven style. Could be the immobiliser as much as anything else, but that would become clear on a fault code check. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

What does the diags port claim is the problem? A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Hah, mine has averaged less than that for the last ten years, just up to you. Do you need the thrills/kudos/good times more than you need a few grand in your pocket? If so keep it. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Doh! Hehe A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Where are you based? And are the rivets still attached to the metal strengthening beam across the back edge? A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Iirc the head will, it's just not getting back to the sump. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

No personal experience of trying it but I think 19" is too big on a Corrado, you'd need to be running rubber band tyres and the ride would be utterly ridiculous, not to mention the loss of performance. It would, imho, look a great deal like a toy car.. Google says: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=corrado+on+19%22+wheels A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

All of them were OBD1 when they left the factory, only those who have done aftermarket updates are now different.. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Well, I'm contemplating removing the headlights and sending the reflectors away to be replated. But there are a long list of other priorities to deal with first unfortunately... A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Quite often the high fans come on because you have an air lock at the top of the coolant system.. where the sensor is. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Give us a clue, what is it? :) A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.

Good report. I got an advisory on the MOT but it passed. I doubt it's possible to get replacement parts these days so this looks like a good backup choice (correction I note headlamps are £300+ each from VW heritage, assuming they are ever in stock). Would be nice to have a spare set to work on as personally I'm paranoid about breaking something... Which wiring loom did you go for, and did you have to cut the oe loom to add it?
