Lol.. now that would have one hell of a torque curve...
-
i have an 8v 2.0. Its running at 40 mpg at the mo. Loads of room in the engine bay as already said which makes them easy to work on. Nice interior, ODB, ok looks. Gutless though.. :(
-
tbh i'm not sure, but for such an integral part I would go to a dealers(Or at least GSF). IMO anyway.
-
i'd buy one as they are not too expensive and it is a good idea to have a spare one.
-
is it priming the fuel pump and turning the engine over?
-
hi sorry to hear that. how though ? the infamous crank pulley bolt coming loose or breaking?
-
Absolutely. I was very very negative about the "Bangle'd" BMW's when they first started hitting the streets but now I've really changed my mind on them. Actually I think I prefer the styling of most modern BMW's to most modern Audi's! And I never thought i'd say that! The 3 series looks more understated than the Audi A4's and A5's (and more specifically the awful S5 which I absolutely detest) - the BMW 335i is far more discreet. Even the M3 isn't that in your face.. though must admit i've not seen many on the roads yet. So not going for the 500 Arbarth SS then Jim? Looking at the spy shots I've seen it'll be a "Scoop and skirt-tastic" motor! Mind you hitting the 60 in under 7.5 in something so damn small will feel like its taking 2-3 secs too! .. and if it breaks down it dosn't matter.Just pick that $hit up,put it in your pocket and take it home. 8)

true. that simplicity has served the corrado well.

great looking car.

Sorry. A thousand pardons this is not a corrado engine. Its for a golf. Ok It is a newly aquired car. So I have the camshaft sensor out of spec intermittent fault, which is causing intermittent engine cut out. I have changed the dizzy for a new one as apparently you can't get a hall sender on its own for my model. 2 litre 1997 mark3 golf(AGG engine.) It sill telling me that the signal is out of spec. Thus i wish to check timing. You get these options in Vag-Com under basic settings 07(For the hall sender) 7,0,Hall Sender DataADY, AGG, AKR 7,1,Hall - Engine Senders,57...60 or 1.0 7,2,Hall - Engine Senders,5...8 7,3,Altitude Correction,0.85 ... 1.15 7,4,Operating Cond.,Throttle 00000000 7,1 iHall Engine Senders is 12 on mine. Should it be between 57 and 60 then ? Anyone with any experience with this sort of thing???? ta

You do seem to have had alot of probs with this cars. Ok Why not extend your loan and buy that newer car and then take the corrado off road. Then do the little bits that need doing to it gradually?? The nicer thing with a later VAG car is that it will have ODB which helps at fault time. :) I can see why you want to sell it.If its broken all the time it won't be bringing you much joy. If you buy a nice low mileage example corrado with lots of service history or you have deep pockets then these cars are ok as daily drivers. Mine was far from the above. -
Nova GTE (passed my test in this car :0)) Fiat Tipo (worst car I have ever driven) Vauxhall cavalier (gutsy) Vauxhall vectra(boring) 1 x mark2 golf 8v gti (fun) 2 x mark3 gti's 8v (gutless). 2 x audi 80's. An amateur presented with all the parts would get it done in less time. They're taking the Michael.

kr is 1.8 9a,abf 2litre. But you knew that. 9a is vw's equivalent of the audi 3a bubble block. It is a short block being the same height as the kr or pg engines 1.8 engines. The extra cc's over the 1.8 blocks is created with a slightly larger crank and bore. The extra height of the abf block over the 9a gives a better rod ratio. You may or may not be interested in reading this in regards to the last point. http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/stroke- ... 32680.html Or do you own reasearch on this matter. The differences in management of the 9a and abf engines has already been discussed above. ta
