  1. is your abf turbo a work in progress or is it on the road? any pics. :0)
  2. Sorry. My cars at home and I need to find out. thnks.
  3. found this pic from my install in the summer. I hadn't cut the thread yet but you can see the water pipes that replaced the original items.
  4. Hi. yes you need to cut the thread that sticks out from the oil cooler housing so that you can fit the sandwich plate properly.thumbs up. You need to re route the water pipes.G-werks sell the necessary items. I believe they are just water pipes from an earlier golf that didn't use oil/water interchanger jobbie.
  5. If I had the money I' buy it and just stick it in a glass case. Wow.
  6. I will be, yes. Just need to fabricate a fuel rail, which I'm doing with the help of a mate at work who has a lathe! 8) How much would he charge to make me one. Cheeky arn't I. :)
  7. Sooo.... is it a simple matter to modify a 20vt fuel rail for a 16valve application? ta.
  8. re red rado comment. yeah, its red. Your one looks in good nick. No sign of the "blooming" that affects older red cars. So you gonna MS it as soon as you get it? Good to see you back on the horse.

    New Sump?

If it was my car I would have a very good look to see if there was any impact damage to the bottom end. You may have been luck but personally I would get it on axle stands and have a very good look. Then maybe turn the engine over by hand to see if it looks/feels ok?!? fingers x'd for u.
  10. i'm pretty sure it comes direct from the ECU .. i'll d'ble check 2nite.
  11. I have an audi that does exactly the same. Under load in 1st gear when pulling away a judder rips through the car. I can't see how it can be the ignition system tbh?!??
  12. hell.. you changed everything else. may as well try another lambda. :) If that dosn't work hit the car with a hammer and see if that helps. :) sorry but you have to larf or else you'll cry.
  13. Not an easy option mate. But the interesting thing with it is that there are different ways of going about it. Hope you have the stamina and the pockets for it mind. :) Good luck and keep us posted if u do go forward with it. :thumb right:
  14. Yeah actually, i would have expected water temps to be a lot higher than the norm with oil temps like that. i thought that was odd too.
  15. You took the head off before didn't you? Should be quite obvious signs for Pre-ignition as it is quite a deadly scenario for an engine is it not?!! And the plugs should show signs of it also!?? its worse than knock(post ignition) as is my understanding anyway. :? Have you done a compression test? Shame its all off road and so far I'd love a crack at it,although I would probably soon get demoralised Lol. sorry if you have answered all the qestions already Riley but this is page 32 and I couldn't be arsed to read it all again :)
  16. how hi is high mate? what was your engine coolant temp along side all this are your fans kicking in? You may need to test you thermostat. what car do u own?
  17. I drove mine for months with it beeping intermittently b4 I sorted it. Not as a daily though... but its still not too clever  However Supercharged is right. Its not to be recommended. For a start the charger relies on a good oil supply to lubricate it. Good luck
  18. really ? I was considering a sports cat for my g60.. sorry OP to hijack.
  19. hi from obvious and cheap to more serious. low oil levels :) faulty sender blocked oil pump pick up Tired oil pump worn engine bearings :( Is your dipstick guide funnel in good order. If they are broken then this can cause u to think oil levels are ok when they are not. Also is you engine running at normal temperatures. Hi temps can cause oil to thin and thus cause lower oil pressure. Use the seach my mate.Lots of examples of this one. ta
  20. Thats one aggressive looking VR,but not over the top. Like it alot.
  21. they have a prob with stalling when pulling up to junctions at low revs.Due to grime accumulating in the throttle suffocating the engine. Loads of threads on it over at club-gti. Mines doing it at the mo. I'm going to attack it 2morrow with carb cleaner.
