WIN! The key had to be in "off" position and the steering lock activated :cuckoo: I'm going to the garage to fit it right now
-
well, the clip is definately pushed in. I can slide the barrel out about 2mm or so, but I can't pull it completely out. It looks as if it was blocked by somethig else. Am I misisng something? I've already half butchered the whole thing :| I've tried to slide the barrel out with a hammer and a screwdriver but there's no way. I can see the clip passing throught where it is supposed to, but I can't pull the barrel out. please help!!

right, thanks for the pic. I've got now the hole drilled. I see some kind of thing inside. if I push it with a screwdriver, I can move the barrel out about 2mm only (key in "ignition"), but I can't manage to fully extract it. any ideas?

does the whole ignition lock+switch+etc have to be removed from the car? thanks for your replies :D I'm trying to replace the existing barrel with another barrel which has a "16v oem" matched :D
-
Hi, I'd like to replace ONLY the ignition barrel, I mean, only where you put the key, something like this (Sorry too many new words for me LOL): Is it possible? Or do I have to remove the whole ignition switch including steering wheel, stalks, etc..? I've read some threads in here but them all point to the dead wiki articles :( Thanks!

well I could use a multimeter to test the pins for continuity between each other. I have the whole thing. hmm now I realised that I whould have written "ignition switch" LOLLLL so I'll update the first post:D and yes, thanks, I've been able to get access to the battery, and I've found that the key is some kind solid to the plastic part :(

Hi, I've bought an ignition switch, part number "357 905 851", off ebay with a cool oem "16v" vw labelled key 8) (at 20€ posted :norty:). I'm in the office now (yes, I get my packets sent here ) so can't really do it a multimeter testing ... I've been turning the key and it has 0- off position (no-key, or just inserted without turning) 1- ? 2- ? 3- Starter motor (4)- once the engine is started, it returns to (2) but it's supposed to give 2 live feed I think. I really don't know what 1 and 2 are, as my car has only 0- off position (no-key, or just inserted without turning) 1- Ignition 2- Starter motor (3)- once the engine is started, it returns to (2) but it's supposed to give 2 live feed I think. :cuckoo: :cuckoo: :cuckoo: Any thoughts and help will be welcome  p.d. :norty: p.d.2:has anyone tried to replace the "16v key"'s led-light battery? Could I snap it or is it really straight forward? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ and last question: Can I replace the spade of the "16v key" with a spade of a non-16v key as per not having to replace the ignition barrel+door locks? Thanks for looking!!

any progress? :norty: :norty:

Apart from lightened flywheel bla bla bla... there are a couple of things to do that are DIY'able. All of these links point to other forums: a) Dual exhaust cam mod:http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?2508013 b) WUR mod: http://www.clubgti.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=81658 or the definitive mod: c) ABF with k-jet: http://www.clubgti.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=133418 or the ultracombo: c+a+b

        in my gf's Probe, several of these came out of the timing belt cover. may not be the same for the corrado, just a thought

fixed! a new fuel filter and unplugging every single sender and plug and plugging back in, and also using "good" fuel seems to have been good to the car :cuckoo: so we could say that my car has self-fixed once more :norty: :norty: :norty: :salute:

they're said to be off a "karmann edition corrado" I think he may offer you the door cards at 9.999& if you're interested

why not getting low comp pistons? double head gaskets are a good choice but going low comp pistons is said to be more reliable. I'd deffo go this route just to make sure the engine lasts longer ;)

I'll fit a new one if it's not expensive. p.s. :norty: :norty:
-
Is it worth fitting a new one? I have to replace a cv boot anyway...
-
This broke on my corrado yesterday. It's moving freely through the shaft :? what's it supposed to be? a counterweight? is it very expensive? :? :? :? thanks

Window Rollers Group Buy: A few sets left
krnau replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in Forum Group-Buys
Well the material used to make the rollers does have a higher density unfortunately, lets say you have a stock VR6 with no mods. you'll be running 187bhp and (assuming your not a fatty) we'll say you weigh 85kg and the car has a weight of 1240kg that's 141.1320754 bhp/tonne now, the existing rollers weighed 10g with a density of 1.14g/cm3 and the new rollers are exactly the same size but have a density of 1.42g/cm3. That means the new rollers weigh around 2.46g more than the originals! Four rollers mean a total increased weight of 9.84g (0.00984kg) sooo add that all together and you get a new figure of 141.1310273 bhp/tonne Thats a DECREASE in power/tonne of 0.0010481bhp/tonne Sorry pal :( Edit: you could put that burger down though and increase the power to weight ratio! hey you didn't think about the increase in aerodynamics, as glasses will be held tight in place :norty: -
what's wrong with them? If they are blocked, you can use one filament out of a wire
-
I couldn't have summed up owning a corrado better than what you just said :D :salute:  :salute: :salute:
-
Don't think about how much you've spent on it. Think about the final product instead. You own a corrado, that's what makes you turn around and have a look at it with a silly smile on your face everytime you park it :norty: :norty: :norty: :norty: :norty: :norty:

hello!! does your mfa show the average speed? there is a speed sensor behind the cluster that may have gone faulty and so your spoiler won't go up and down automatically

Such as these http://www.corrado-teile.de/shop/produc ... ml/cat/109 thanks

thanks for your replies :D I'll write it down in my 'to-do' list
