Yes even more wheels and BBS splits again too! (wheel whore I hear you cry) This time its RX2s in 7.5x17 ET35 PCD 5x100, outer rims meed attention and they should be spot on.

A mate bought some 19" BBS LMs with worn Toyo Proxes on to put on a Golf 4-Motion. When he fitted them they made an awful sound and he feared bearings, binding callipers etc. He fitted new tyres again Toyo Proxes and the noise and problem disappeared. The originals were suffering from a little uneven wear so perhaps that was the issue?

Will trailer it home.. Its ready for an MOt though so I would be happy to drive it home but it aint tax'd, MOT'd or no insurance yet... (that keeps OSV happy )No i'd much rather you gave it a good thrapping after all the hard work.

Yeh you can have first refusal on the black splits. I'm certain I would miss the car, its just whether I can justify keeping it. It would be sold complete with newly refurbed Speedlines but without either set of splits but any buyer would get to the chance to leave it as is or return to stock with all bits included.

I'm not sure what brings me to think this way but it certainly is not bringing me any joy.
I can't decide what to do with my Corrado. Having got a Passat TDI on long term loan I have found that I haven't been using my Corrado. At the time I thought this was great as i'm a little precious about my car and like to keep it mint and protected from harm. However I have to question what I should do if i'm not using it. There is no question I love the car but will occasional summer use make it worthwhile. I sold a show car Cabriolet to buy the Corrado and haven't regreted for a minute but never intended to be too precious about it but my thoughts quickly changed and a rough old badger is no good to me so I try to keep the car in good order. Having been into VWs for many years I have fulfilled many ambitions winning many shows and having features on my cars but this no longer seems important.
2005 was a great year for me I won several prizes with the Corrado including best Corrado at VW Mania in Belgium and winner at Edition 38 behind Lee and Jay. I'm especally pleased as the car was never intended to be prepared to full on show standard but old habits die hard.
So what to do, nothing its winter blues? Sell the new black splits and be a little less precious? Or should I sell the car?
Sorry for rambling but its driving me to distraction VW have been such a big part of my life, any thoughts people?

They are Carline, I took that pic at Worthersee!

Nice looking car.

A good red Rado looks spot on. I think red rears are cool on red cars but these are too heavy handed and spoilt the effect. The colour coded rims are good too but need polished hexagonal caps in the centre to add contrast and break up the red. Cool car!

BUSTED!

Price is fine, they are hard to find after all. Quality costs i'm afraid, and they aren't available new. The modern equivalent being LMs or RS GTs and boy do you pay for them... quality and exclusivity.

Yes but as I say it can be caused by wheel design plus your original rimms are 6.5 wide.
-
ET35 plus 8mm spavers equals ET27, the catching can be more to do with wheel design than ET.

No its not wrong, the wheels look great just not on a silver car IMO. They are standard dishes polished. My black ones have a deeper dish on the rear 8x17 ET27

To clarify it needn't be current or still in production. Theres a Karmann Ghia with my name on it.

Its great unmodded and better for it some how, early spec cars in stock trim aren't so common. I think side mouldings replaced and more appropriate rims eg Sebrings and its great.
-
Yeh brand new, delivered including plates, road tax a tank of fuel and new car smell. No VAG group VW brand only.

OK bit of fun to pass the time. I know most of us on here are serial modders and can't leave anything alone, but.. If you could pick one VW any age, price etc but it must be standard factory spec and remain totally unmodified what would it be. VWs are great cars to mod but if you left it stock which model would it be any why?
I'm struggling to decide though I anticipate a number of votes for Corrado Storms and Campaigns.
Help me find the pics of your ride height thread!

Sorry to waste a thread but I tried using the search and can't find it for looking. There was a thread about ride heights with measurements and pics IIRC. Can some one confirm i'm not dreaming, where is it? Anyone?
