Mine is due shortly. I can hear and feel all sorts of terrible bumps, rattles and things, the brakes and steering feel not quite the usual and, well, there's imagination for you. I'll shove it in for it's usual pre MOT and start biting fingernails and checking the credit card balance. Still cheaper than a new car though as I say to she who must be obeyed.

If they are going to make a new Corrado I wish they'd get a move on. At this rate I'll get a birthday card from the queen before I see one
-
It looks like a Golf Cabriolet with a Corrado front end.
-
Vicious little buggers therse Corrados, mine bite cyclists and now they've taken to headbutting trees and attacking other cars. I must buy a leash for mine.
-
But how much of a Corrado is actually there? It seems to me to be a fibreglass body with a rear wheel drive "Something" hiding underneath. Then again, maybe I'm just cynical.
-
Pity there's not a British version of Overhaulin.
-
And mine. What looks different?
-
That looks absolutely lovely

Try it and see what happens, it's not a big job to pull the wheel off and try the Porch one. Instant answer.

They are a great example of a colour that was NOT popular in 1989-92 so not many were bought yet in more recent years the dark greens are a seen as a classy colour. I have no idea what the attraction is and i own one... but i sure as hell didnt pay any Oak Green Tax on it, circa £1k for a 120k FSH 3dr 16v a few years back. Im surprised that WHITE corrados arent seen as cool now as white has made a come back yet in the early 90s white was a POOR MANS choice and very uncommon. DAVE It seems that colours flip in and out of fashion. When I bought mine the nugget was considered a "bad" colour and lowered the value of the car by a couple of hundred quid. I got an Alpine White, not for the colour as I've never really bothered about that. It was the only one I could find that I was happy with the condition of.

Take it into your local independant friendly garage and drop a mechanic a couple of quid to stick an exhaust analyser on it.

I’d consider swapping the VR6 to a black 190E 2.5-16 (one of the cars on my ‘realistic-next-car-list’), but would that be madness? :D Total madness, what would you do with all the money you didn't spend trying to keep a Corrado going!!!!!!!!

I put on a beggin face and went down to the local windscreen place and asked if they had anything I could stick it back on with and the guy there did it for the price of a pint. I'd tried the Hafords stuff and it didn't laast very well. If you do decide to do it yourself seperate the round alloy fixing plate from the mirror first and stick it to the windscreen by itself. Wait till it's truly stuck hard before fitting the mirror back on too it.

Not boring at all. I love having someone to really hate just out of total jealousy.
-
MOT records only started to be computerised in 2005 so there are no records available on the database before that.
-
My first thought was something like a Cterham, then I looked at the prices  I think the MX5 would provide all the fun you would like and you would be able to get a good one for your pennies, perhaps with a little left over to spend on it or the Corrado.

You could try doing a compression test on all cylinders to see if one or two are down in pressure. Also you could have a look at the plugs for differences between one bank and the other. If the car is running rough you could disconnect th plug leads one at a time to see i the roughness is unaffected when the lead is removed from a particular cylinder indicating a problem with it.
-
Out of curiousity, do you still have the bump strips on your car?
-
I don't know, maybe it's me, maybe the car, or a recent experience with a cyclist but I actually get a wave from the local traffic cops. Any other time I've got along OK with the plod. Be nice, they're nice back, unless you've been stupid.

A spring is "calibrated" throughout it's length. The centre will compress first moving progressively outward. Cutting the spring totally messes up the thing. Even trying to balance it by cutting both ends results in chaos.
-
Sorry, couldn't resist it. Apparently not too much, see viewtopic.php?f=19&t=86196&p=996586&hilit=momo#p996586

a momo team steering wheel?
-
Never had to do it but I reckon the worst job ever would be undoing the first bolt when breaking a Corrado.
-
Sounds abit like clutch drag to me. Creeping in gear suggests that the clutch is not releasing properly. Try pumping the clutch pedal a few times before putting it into gear and see if this helps. If it does it suggests a problem with the hydraulics. I would check the slave cylinder first as it's pretty easy to get off to have a look at. Maybe a quick bleed of the system would help.

Have a read through this thread, seems to cover most of it. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=92541&hilit=sunroof+sync Shows what a CF nerd I am really as my C doesn't have a sunroof.
