or another idea that came to me on the weekend......im sure ive read on here that KW can provide an alternative spring rate to that which is 'out of the box' so to speak. IIRC Kev Bacon knows of a slightly softer spring rate which you could specify for the V1's for example, thus removing some of the harshness caused by our awful roads (the suspension would not give you any issue if they would gave us decent roads to drive on)

whoa that is rather major! i thought the avon zv5's were bad, only lasting around 6K in the VR ive covered about 14K so far on my current bridgestone RE002's on the front & there is still plenty until the wear bar

Changing heater matrix without removing dash?
g0ldf1ng3r replied to Hofmiester's topic in Engine Bay
guys ive compiled a word document with the majority of the pics that are missing from the kris guide on the wiki here it is dash out but has lots of pictures with all screws etc specified PM me your email address if you would like a copy or PM Jim on here as he has a pdf version -
IIRC the V3's are full adjustable & allow: height, rebound & compression to be set individually thus you can get them set exactly as you desire plus with some playing around & testing you could have a 'soft(er)' setup for normal journeys & motorways & then a 'firm' setup for spirited or track driving FYI i found buying them direct from KW was the cheapest option for my V1's & they will price match (or used to) dont get me wrong i love the V1's & on smooth roads they are superb, around the bends they are awesome too but our UK ****ty roads can sometimes make them feel rather bumpy. the V3's would allow you to set them to avoid any harshness

could he not just get a new corrado expansion tank (thus same sensor connector) & put a blue lid on it? im sure thats what i did but now im trying to recall what i did when i changed it but i did the rad at the same time & seeing the car with no front end was scary lol
-
for the price of it wayne you may as well get a new expansion tank & blue cap when i changed mine i did not get a new sensor
-
suspension is very much you get what you pay for KW V3's are meant to be the dogs danglies i wish i could have made the jump from the V1's but i couldnt afford it at the time. if funds allow in future i would like to put the V1's off the VR onto my valver & then get the V3's on the VR :D

hi m8 ive found the reply from anna about the section, copied below for you: C535-809-848 comes up at £39.87 plus VAT. Clasic parts take 2-3 weeks to come in from point of order as we order a large batch at a time each week, that includes being booked in here. As long as your order totals over 35 its free delivery.
-
errr let me check.......
-
ha ha ha indeed m8!! & then you literally fall off your chair when you ask them for a quote as the delivery charges are phenomenal with the sill repair panel i mentioned the carriage was TRIPLE the cost of the part lol i felt very lucky to have a contact from heritage on here as they got it for me & i paid zero delivery, as my order was above their FOC threshold :D
-
i see & yes i agree it does seem encouraging my only gripe is that their prices do seem to be rather errm, well, inflated
-
is that classicparts.de you refer to Jim? i was pleased to find an outer sill repair section, among others, & the ordering experience was enhanced thanks to anna & VW heritage & their free delivery
-
thanks Jim i know the oil pressure & temp switches were replaced when the stealth work was done & the top area where they connect is all dry i need to get my head underneath & shine a torch up to try & see better
-
you read my mind m8 - thank you :) i will probably throw the trolley jack in the car & take it to my parents house, as they have a flat drive unlike my current one, & take a look over the weekend i just hate leaks Kev - ive not long fixed the water ingress to the cabin i was suffering grrr lol
-
no new oil patches overnight & looked fairly dry on the underneath but again a slight drip from the same area once the engine was started checked oil level yesterday & barely registering a loss need to investigate over the weekend
-
welcome m8 i still remember collecting my first rado & the wonderful drive back plenty of info on here, lots of nice people & dont worry about questions :) when posting, if you click the 'go advanced' button down the bottom right corner the page will then change to have an 'attachments' button - click that, select the file you want & then click 'upload'
-
not sure m8 but i reckon if someone could master repairing them they could make a tidy income on here ;) lol have you checked out the threads on having a moonroof instead? although from what ive read that can be a slight minefield too
-
thanks Kev, much appreciated im pretty sure the filter housing O ring was replaced when it was serviced & MOT'd not too long ago. it did have a new sump & summp gasket when it was in stealth last year as well ive just had a look & there have been zero drips since arriving at work this morning - thus, as it was a fresh drip this morning when it was warming up for a few minutes i believe it is only happening when the engine is running no sign of any oil coming from above the oil filter housing or the sensors on top but i can see where it seems to be dripping onto the pipe work slightly below such unfortunately without putting one side on a kerb i cant wriggle my head under for a better look as it is too low lol
-
not sure yet Kev going to have a look on my break shortly it seems to be around the oil filter housing area
-
any clue where m8? i can see lots of gauges but not like the corrado specific one
-
ahhh poop spotted a small dripping of oil when i started the VR today :(
-
