Silicon Hose kits for VR6 from Roose Motorsport
beastie4126 replied to Stonejag's topic in Forum Group-Buys
Sounds like the PCV valve hose to me. I was tempted to blend my Samco hose in by cutting it but in the end I decided to leave best alone. On a seperate note I had a good nose around Nick's (stonejag) engine bay on Saturday and these hoses look very well made especially in comparison to my Samco's. If I was buying a set now it would be these and not the Samco's I would go for. -
Nice looker in the proper colour ;)

Think mine may be removed tomorrow too! This is getting stupid with the prices of parts now being driven sky high for things that probably cost less than £1 to make when they where originally produced. Who do we harrass at classic parts in order to get this sort of thing remade?
-
A MK1 or Mk2 A3? owned my mk1 1.8T for about seven years so I have got to know most of it's issues in that time.

Hi Greg, I kind of started this off on this thread http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?57309-VR6-EIBACH-22mm-front-ARB-s as I was having issue's with my Eibach arb on my VR. I ended up switching to another brand to resolve my issue but if you are interested I still have the offending ARB in the garage if you'd like to take a look sometime.

Adjust on passenger side on RHD vehicles and don't move the drivers side. I rightly or wrongly measured the distance between the wheels until they equalled the same distance front and back. Steering wheel was slightly out so unbolted and moved it around. Would be better done via laser but for a cheap diy it worked well. Camber if lowered should be around -1. I use a cheap but useful gunson camber tool - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gunson-77066-Trakrite-Magnetic-Camber-Castor-Gauge-Race-Rally-Garage-/280836337511?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4163266f67

Yours is scraping in the same place as mine did. i never went back to the supplier but seeing as we have two the same now i reckon we should. I switched mine for a neuspeed 25mm one that fits perfectly. Just twigged that yours is a valver fitment but none the less it's still misshapen.

Damn my fat typo fingers :) yup 1.5 pitch is what you want
-
You need to use 40mm 2.5 pitch M12 high tensile bolts when fitting 312mm carriers not the originals as they are not long enough . You can use a spring washer on the bolt face but I prefered to use a dab of thread lock instead.
-
Neither of you own a ruler :) Its the stainless M12 1/4" (6mm) spacers at the bottom of the list
-
Not sure if this should go in suppliers or something but I found these guys whilst searching for 6mm spacers for my 312mm front brake conversion. Stainless items so won't corrode so easy and only took 2 days from order to delivery. http://www.custom-fasteners.co.uk/acatalog/Spacers.html

288 Calipers & Discs, 1.8 Fuel tank. 16v Rear Beam

Will be the weekend before I can get a pic up as its nice and dark when I get home from work :) It is basically the complete rear beam from a 1.8 16v minus the wheels. so it will include rear discs, brake calipers, disc shields, brake regulator, I even think it has the handbrake cables still attached. It's cheap as it will need a refurb due to rust and crud but is ideal if you want one to get done whilst you still use the car. -

Silicon Hose kits for VR6 from Roose Motorsport
beastie4126 replied to Stonejag's topic in Forum Group-Buys
I do remember the chap from Viper saying that getting these pieces done would require making the tool time and time again or something like that. TBH looking at the pic of them on they look ok to me and for the price compared to Samco + time to make them they are a steal. -
Try this if you are unsure: http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html

don't use the hacksaw m8 , its an angle grinder you need :)

Didn't know they did Frankfurter colour :) I'm assuming that these are actually orange to match your calipers? Look good and now we have another option instead of the 3 month wait from Samco if you want something that isn't blue !! Could they do the Tee peices in Ally instead do you think? Make sure you have them fitted for when you drop mine back so I can have a nose :) -
Pretty sure it wouldn't be good not having the thrust washer in there so could have caused some issue's with the bearing. Stick it in gear and put a brick on the brake pedal, failing that a windy gun is your friend. Still reckon your better off attacking it from the other end tbh
-
You should have Hubnut then washer then hub. Either side of the bearings are two big circlips to hold it in but with the rubber boot removed you should be able to thwack the end of the shaft off, see pic:
-
should be able to take off the carrier assembly etc and then tap (rubber mallet time) the end of the shaft off. No need to take it off from the gearbox unless you want to as the bolts and gasket will need renewing.
-
From memory mine are the same as the hose on the right, the one on the left looks like it would have a retaining clip pass through it. Accrding to Vagcat the hose should be 155mm in length
