  1. Dunno About that :) but the bearing has been switched and the noise seems to have gone but as I didn't get to complete a proper test drive I will have to do it tomorrow just to make sure. Well at least you will know who it is waving now I suppose.
  2. Billet fuel hose brackets to replace the prone to cracking plastics ones. Gruven do them but at about £80 shipped which is a little steep.
  3. Too noisy to leave and I dont want it failing on a 200 mile trip, thats assuming it is the bearing. Done them before on various Golfs so a new hub and bearing has been bought with the intention of starting saturday morning and finishing sunday if I have to. Luckily i have access to tools for pressing bearings and doing wheel alignments. Fingers crossed I will be the on saturday next week :)
  4. Not cheap tyres fitted and they are all matching but a front to rear switch might be worth a punt - good call
  5. Seeing as I am planning to go to Castle Coombe next week for the 25th Anniversary the Rado has decided now would be the best time to throw a hissy fit and develop an odd front end whine which sounds like it coming from the drivers side. Now to me it sounds like a wheel bearing especially as the noise increases with speed and sounds the same coasting in neutral. The question is should I expect play on the wheel as there isn't any and what else could it be if it's not a bearing? Oh and I only have Sunday to get under the car and get it sorted - no pressure :(
  6. Didn't you have a nice set of 263's waiting to go in anyway? perfect excuse to use them now.
  7. Mine have arrived, hmmmm shiny Cheers Dave
  8. So who's up for a Corrado race meet at Brands Hatch on the 11 & 12th August? The Corrado listed is shown as a 2.0 Gti ?? http://vw-cup.co.uk/drivers013.htm 52 Alex DZIURZYNSKI West End Precision Corrado GTI 2.0
  9. These any use for a wiring diagram http://www.piranha-uk.co.uk/index.html ?
  10. 2nd that Aux pump clamp in ally and rad neck would probably be good sellers. How about a coil pack ally heat shield and carbon fibre splash guard for the same?
  11. Get a magnetic screwdriver to help grabbing the valve retainers.
  12. Sat next to a green VR6 L reg on the north side of the anti clockwise M25 AT 6 AM this morning. Would have waved but I was in the A4 at the time and we where doing about 70 at the time.
  13. Why go to all the aggro of taking the cams out to put old lifters in you may as well put your new ones in and get another set for the engine you are building up. I would give the engine a flush and some fresh oil and take it from there.
  14. See if you can slip in Star Wars- The Imperial March (Darth Vader music) for when she comes down the aisle :)
  15. Spotted a red n reg flying round the north clockwise M25 this morning. I was sitting in the outside lane waiting for my turn to shuffle along at 2mph whilst the 40mph signs taunted me :)
  16. Already have a 25mm Eibach on the back and being a tinkerer at heart I fancy having a go with a 28mm.
  17. Sorry m8 but I will give this a miss as I was hoping it was a 28mm one.
  18. I had mine done by Lepsons as well and I would recommend the finish to anyone. Mine have been on the car for about 24 months and still clean up nicely. I have been on the lookout for a spare but they are pretty damn hard to find.
  19. If they are 16 x 7's they will probably have an et of 35 like the ones on my car. Clearance for 312mm brakes and no spacers required. Didn't realise they are worth that much though, better lock them up :)
  20. ARB size and more pics please
  21. Fitted a brand new drivers door seal which should hopefully cut down on the force 9 gale I hear when driving.
  22. VW classic parts via VW Heritage = £676.21 for part 535809843A - Ouch !!!
  23. You would only use them if it was a banjo bolt as said before, the caliper to hose bolt arrangement is tight enough to create a seal. I had these on mine before switching for mk4 rear calipers instead so I can happily vouch for both fitments.
