  2. I work shifts mate so often get time off in the week if that's any good. Rog.
  3. I'm working this weekend mate but should be free at any other time. Rog.
  4. Ahhh, so is it the Idle Air Control valve on the wiring diagram.. IAC valve.? Rog.
  5. Out of interest, what's an isv? I too have a lumpy idle, I thought it was just because I have aftermarket cams. Rog.
  6. Well, the old Storm is now behaving itself, just took it for a blat and all is good, we'll see if it makes it to work tomorrow.. Fingers crossed...lol Give me a shout if you want a hand mate, I've got a Bentley manual and am pretty good at keeping the smoke in the wires....lol... Also I can come up in the Storm and swap bits over to rule stuff out. Rog.
  7. Just tested the fuel pump supply, I don't any prime supply, Bentley says it should run for 1 sec. Once the engine is running the pump supply is fine, just need to work out why its not priming now. Rog.
  8. Thanks for the above guys, I appreciate any help. Just had a little fiddle, how long does the fuel take to prime, I can't hear it running at all when I turn the ignition on but can hear it when the engine is running.. I've disconnected the fuel pipe at the fuel rail (I assume the top one is supply) and when I turn the ign on only a small drop of fuel comes out (like a teaspoon). could this be my problem??? how is the fuel prime controlled?? Rog.
  9. Right, now this is where it starts to get weird, just got home and guess what, it starts .... However if I try a few starts it'll start maybe 1 in 5. Once running all is good, I've not driven it but can rev it fine. Any ideas ? Rog.
  10. Thanks Jim, top tip. Btw, do you happen to know where the fuse box is .. lol Rog.
  11. Appreciate what you saying Jim, noobs can be a pain asking the same noob questions again and again however is a tad difficult to search on a phone. Also, maybe it's just me but the search function is pretty dire, if you was to put 'fuse box location' into the search engine you would get thousands of hits. We were all new once.... Rog.
  12. Cheers guys, I'm at work atm so I few things to check when I get home, a few questions. Where is the fuse box? Where is the OBD socket? And should the fuel pump run all the time? ie, does it run if the ignition is on or only if the engine is running?? Rog.
  13. Morning chaps, the storm let me down this morning, it simply will not start. Turns over on the starter but won't catch and is not even attempting to start. I'm thinking electrical, any one else have any ideas?? Rog.
  14. 4 litres mate, it's at my local Maccess, you need a trade card to get in but if anyone wants some I'll happily get it and post. Rog.
  15. My local motor factor has Castrol Edge 5w-30 fully synth for £18.51 Any good for my VR6 or too thin?? Rog.
  16. Light on again this morning, dropped my kids at school (5min drive) and did a restart... light goes out.... strange.... I'm thinking electrical but am open to ideas. Rog.
  17. Its all provisional at the moment mate, if there is enough interest then a new year meet might be a better idea. If there is no interest I can still sort something out for just a few of us, maybe get the CRX boys involved and tag along with them. Rog.
  18. Back in the day when I had my CRX I used to organise the odd rolling road day at Alan Jeffery's rollers. Basic format was 2 power runs with a print out for £20, the rollers are Dyno Dynamics and are very actuate. After everyone had been on the rollers and a few ego's had been quashed we would normally head across to Cornwall for a bite to eat at a pub and then maybe up on to moors for a photoshoot / chinwag. Normally do this on a Sunday as the rollers are free. So, just gauging interest at the moment, if enough folk fancy it then I'll approach AJ and see if he can fit us in. Looking at maybe the end of November. I'll also invite members from VR6OC if everyone is happy with that. Rog.
  19. So basically, I can jack the whole front up at once using the subframe. Rog.
  20. Evening fellow Corrado chums, Quick question for you, what's the best way to jack up the front of the car? Not just one side but the whole of the front of the car ie, both wheels off the ground. Rog.
  21. Good news, bmc has arrived, just awaiting the arrival of a connecting pipe, also I've shimmed the drivers door so it no longer drops when you open it. Bad news, abs light is back on. Rog.
  22. Bad news, abs light is back on, think I'll change the fluid next. Rog.
  23. n shaped shim fitted, door sorted...took about 10 mins... reeesult... Cheers fellas Rog.
  24. Cheers for the replies fella's, looks like a lot of work to replace the hinge pins so I think I'll go down the shim route for now. Fox, yes mate, I realise the bottom hinge won't work, plan is to shim the top hinge a few mm. Rog.
