  1. the sender for the temperature is on the flange attached to the head on a G60
  2. mine blinks at me when I go over a hill, except it doesnt blink it stays on. it will stay on for about 15 seconds then start blinking when temp goes up as well. there is plenty of G12 in the tank, and the temp does get pretty high, could this be a bad black sender unit or is something else wrong.
  3. Thanks dude, my back up car is a volvo '85 740 GLE station wagon with 315000 miles on it, its a sweet ride and it just keeps going too. mistrall, think about replacing the Dizzy, hall sender could be bad causing retardation of engine, at max retardation of 12 or 16 degrees, cant remember which, and running it for many miles the engine will get hot quicker than you can blink and the manifold will surely glow. I just recently found this out myself, I have a G60 so my manifold tends to slightly glow normally but once it gets red, worry. I am about to replace my dizzy and we will see what happens, PS why couldnt VW make good bolts? and why do you people in the UK call Banjo's the stringed instrument Banto's?
  4. dude check your head flanges they can leak small amounts of water causing an air pocket and then an air lock, this is why it will overheat so quickly. drop water on them when you turn the car on to see if the escaping air bubble the water, it just allows the water to evap and mess up the system.
  5. right but the point is that this can get blocked the whole point of this thread was to notify people of this "evil" piece of VW technology that makes your car overheat
  6. its got a hole in it about 1mm wide
  7. this piece is located inside the joint of the small hose to the top radiator hose
  8. you know I dont know what it is, I think its a bleed valve for pressure in the system. partially eliminates air locks. but I dont know. have a look
  9. yeah if you want to ghetto fab your corrado do it, there are about 80 water seals on a rotary engine, and they grendade at about 100,000 miles. get a 3rotor and you will be fine. my friend just blew his RX7's rotary's apex seal, think about it as a big G60 with fire and more compression.
  10. Will post pic when I get home from college.
  11. I blew through 3 exhaust systems because of my ability to shoot flames. 2 dynomax's and 1 magnaflow, still on the magnaflow cause its straight through.
  12. new ISV and make sure its plugged into the back of the throttle body like on the G60's. if it doesnt plug in there try O2 sensor, and perhaps dizzy.
  13. if at idle check radiator, if at high revs then check thermo, if thermo is brand new like mine, check the funny hose that goes to the expansion tank from the radiator's top hose, I just posted a comment saying that it has a funny piece of plastic in it to release pressure, yes it really does have one henny. if it happens right after you turn the car on, its most definitely an air lock. running it with the cap off is the worst idea in the world. fill it up at the top of the radiator hose and just keep filling both radiator and hose. once full, run it and squeeze the top hose rapidly, it will make the air come out to the top by forcing water into the holes. then fill it up again. I would check all your senders as well, I have replace all of mine recently, I am hoping to finally fix my overheating issues but one never knows.
  14. ready... who can say hall sender in the Dizzy if there is not an air leak in the exhaust??? oh wait I can!
  15. ok so despite what everyone thinks about the top radiator hose, there is actually something in there, sorry henny. There is a short piece of plastic that looks like a fitting that has a small hole in that allows pressure to bleed out of the system and into the cap on the thin hose going to the expansion tank. I know this because I took mine out being that SOME PEOPLE thought there wasn't supposed to be anything there. when I bought a new one it came with it too, therefore its supposed to be there. just FYI for people with OVERHEATING problems, check to see if this bleed hole is blocked by blowing in the tube. no guys its not a lump of crud.
  16. I am using vibratechnics rear engine mount, standard tranny mount and bbm solid front mount
  17. BBM makes a good solid front mount, http://www.Bahnbrenner.com, they have this too http://www.bahnbrenner.com/media/php/ca ... &catid=263 and this http://www.bahnbrenner.com/media/php/ca ... &l=77&r=78 rear engine mounts are vibratechniks http://www.ndimports.com/catalog/engine ... e%20Mounts BBM's will rattle your teeth out, EIP tuning makes a front mount for the G 60 as well, will again rattle teeth out. the vibratechniks stuff is expensive so look out for it in other places, look elsewhere online, but as far as I know they are bulletproof. mine others are shot too. the rear passenger I will probably get the vibratechniks, and same for tranny mount. cost me way too much tho.
  18. how about I send you postage and some cash? I can get one here for 125 US but I think shipping will cost more than that! golf mark III will work tho? How do I get it out again, bentley talks about removing subframe
  19. :? if you need any help PM me, I have AutoCAD 2005 and 4 years of Drafting under my belt, 2d and 3d. :)
  20. design one that can go front mount for a G60 without crazy modifications to the piping and I will definitely buy one. I am US though.
  21. mocal in the bumper? are you cutting a hole for it? be wary, those hoses are pain to position.
  22. PVW had purple cars on their february issue I believe, it was a golf? they have black ones occasionally
