  1. distributor, only if it seriously lacks power sometimes and backfires, otherwise injector seals
  2. the little one? that goes to the expansion tank?
  3. I need a distributor being that my hall sender unit is fried, car runs but has no power and constantly backfires, I replaced O2. So I need a good deal on Distributors, I am in the US but I will order from where it is cheapest. was gonna go to local scrap yard but I want something that I will be able to rely on. Are there any performance distributors for a corrado? looking at MSD but they only have stuff for a type 1 bug. anyone seen anything different?
  4. all of you boys amuse me, good luck replacing the cooler though
  5. there is a bolt that is associated with that thread its a 23,24,25mm I dunno exactly but it is pretty big, unscrew that and then pull the oil cooler off, have a bag ready because it leaks oil everywhere.
  6. you have a blown oil cooler, drive your car for 15 mins and really get the temp up. after that drive your car fast and watch the temp in the car and see if it climbs substantially with a little gas ranging to a lot of gas, if the temp doesnt rise then your oil cooler is gone, if it does then its your headgasket. Once back from your escapade take the oil dipstick out to see if there is foam on it, if there is then your headgasket is blown, foam is only if you arent using coolant, mayo is with coolant. next look at your oil in the water expansion tank, did it form a thick layer of sludge on the inside flat part of the expansion tank, or is it building up? if yes to sludge then oil cooler is blown, also before you take your car out have it be cool and start it, smell the exhaust fumes coming out, if you are running coolant it will smell sweet. oil cooler is piece of cake, do it yourself, I did my headgasket and I had my corrado for 8 months, put in a copper one they hold high boost. I am 19 I did the headgasket when I was 18 this is my first car that I have worked on, besides a bug for 2 months. if you dont already have one BUY A BENTLEY, I have posted this so many times. It has saved me probably a good 1500 pounds in labor, yes my car was really badly broken. Do it yourself, thats all I have to say.
  7. wow henny got rid of your "bling bling" wheels so quick, I am surprised, like the new look
  8. well if its under the alternator its either a head gasket, or your alternator falling off damaged your oil cooler, check oil cooler for flow first then replace headgasket, both are pain but oil cooler easier than headgasket, believe me I have done both, oil in the water is one of the two. head comes off with 4 hours of work, oil cooler with about 1 hour.
  9. you look like you blew an oil ring, are the edges of your pistons clean? if so your oil rings are smoked. also use brake cleaner does wonders =-)
  10. Can I just snatch one off of a GTI 16V, Passat 16V, or a Jetta at the local scrap yard? what's up with the new system of adressing me by my name, kinda feel like I'm being yelled at.
  11. good question I will check ETKA when I get home

then I am glad that plugged the thing back a few months ago, It wasunplugged for about a year, probably why I blew the headgasket
  13. tried that website I got nothing, does GSF sell them and do they ship to the US, I dont want to have to buy a whole new distributor like ETKA and the local stealer are saying. anyone got one they want to sell me or a distributor they want to sell me?
  14. Sorry mods, had to do it, sly though wasnt it
  15. Flippin Ugly Crazy Kryptonite. take the first letter of each word, HIM! engineers rock, I am in college going to be one. Tell him to shove off. exhaust people are mangy anyway

    Fuel additive

Go to BahnBrenner.com, they have a movie called tyfighter.mpeg, it is a scirrocco running a G60 with 22PSI and 100 octane, it does fine.
  17. How much and where do I get one? I live in US just FYI.
  18. hall sender? what the heck is that, I have worked on this car for 2 years and havent heard of that.

    Fuel additive

or how much more your jet fuel is compared to the US and our gross mass production consumer driven market.
  20. potatonet

    Fuel additive

No I dont know what you call airports over there
  21. potatonet

    Fuel additive

buy race fuel at the place, mixing it with your 92 octane shouldnt be a problem, fuel additives dont work in our beautiful cars, makes them too hot and gives no HP. 100 octane should do. if you can get 120 even better, if you really want something that will fly, go to the local airport first and get some 140 Jet fuel about 3 pounds per gallon
  22. if it continuously flows oil out, especially when you havent put oil in recently, replace the Cap. are you driving around and the little red light from satans village blaring its constant banshee scream at you?
  23. I just replaced my injector seals and O2 sensor, car is still backfiring, I get about 20 mpg when driving normal, 28 on freeway and 17 when punching it. I dont know whats wrong, is my fuel pressure regulator going to affect this, also my power will sometimes cut out for a second or two, and sometimes it cuts out really bad then the engine backfires a whole lot more. car somtimes pings on start up.

I just unplugged mine, it idles about 1200. best way to Defeat boost transfer.
  25. ok I got some more drive time in today while you guys were all sleeping. I took car through a variety of things, ok well what I did was get rid of the airlock, yes one formed. I take it out after fully removing the airlock and about 10 mins into driving it at various speeds, the cars heat starts going up again. I have a 174F degree thermostat the car was pulling about 200F degrees in heat. so I got kinda worried, thought it was creating another airlock. well I get another 3 mins in and it goes up to 230F. Really worried now. Take it off the freeway after cruising at 70. Cars temperature goes down to 170. dunno how it happened, thought the cars airlock was relieved. drive it further and the temp goes back up to 210F. on the way to a big hill temp goes down to 160. kinda freaking me out now. I keep the car in mid 3rd gear all the way up the hill. maximum temperature reached is 180. went down the hill got temp to 160. floored it out of the bottom of the hill got it up to 80mph and 174F. started driving around town and then the temp went back up to about 190. temp then drops to 165F and I keep it down till I test it again. FLOOR it to about 95. temp goes up to 174. slow down a bit (35) and the temp goes up to about 195. till I get home when it drops down to about 185. the reason why its not the radiator is because its new, like a week old and this just started today. so what I am thinking is my thermostat is fried, or is "sticking". would this make any sense to everyone else?
